For those who say that the world being flooded was just the known world at the time, isn't the Bible supposed to be the word of God and wouldn't God know about some more world?

It uses words such as: "Finally, the water covered even the highest mountains on earth."

Also, having rained and flooded, it would surely have killed the plant life as well. So how did that come back?

It didn't say God brought back the plant life.

And if Noah's boat was so good why couldn't some fisherman's large boat have survived with him on it. It says all that other junk was destroyed but mentions no other way besides floods...

Seeds finding new land would not quickly flourish because the water would have been salty. Even if it wasn't salty, the seed would still have been overwhelmed with water, which would not allow the seed to grow. Chances of the water drying fast enough, the seed burying itself, and the right amount of sun hitting it are far too slim to vegetate the entire dry portion of earth.

I'm a christian, but not a normal one. I think many of hte earliest stories in the old testament (genesis, exodus, etc) are merely allegories, stories that use heavy symbolism. I don't believe that Noah literally built an ark and the world was flooded and everyone died, I think it's symbolic of a very small amount of people remembering the faith of abraham while the rest had forgotten and had become full of sin....

The flood is described in almost every religion. It is mentioned by the Sumerians, the Ancient Greeks, the Persians, the Ancient Chinese, the Aztecs, the Norse, the Egyptians...
The story is almost exactly the same (although Noah's name changes from version to version).
My theory was there was a huge rise in sea levels flooding most coastal regions and it was these regions where most people lived at the time. The story of Noah and the Ark comes from old legends about this flood. I think the cause of the flood was melting glacial ice.

yes, the entire earth was flooded
Althought vegetation can be destroyed, seeds can not be killed that easily. So a seed deposited in random places around the earth, on newly watered soil, would flourish quickly.
PS there is no record that poepl had boats before then. the traditional way of fishing was to cast a net over the water from shore, and bring it in there.
This is one of the reasons people mocked Noah so much, they had never seen a boat before!

Noah left the dinosaurs off the ark, and they were left to fend for themselves. In a desperate effort to get on a boat, they thrashed all the poor fishermen's boats to pieces. Plus the whole story was made up in an attempt explain the various observations like the presence of fish skeletons on mountaintops.

Sacred scriptures are meant to impart spiritual truths. Because our understanding and language are inadequate to express explicitly these Truths, they must be delivered to us in allegories and parables. It works much the same way of messages that are given to us in dreams, that is, ideas must be given to us using events and objects with which we are familiar. Thus the Bible (as well as other sacred scriptures) uses historical events and objects to impart these Truths. It does not mean that these historical events actually happened in a literal way (although some may have). It's the same with dreams. Some dreams may be based upon historical fact (or future fact), but others may involve events that are purely fictional (dream symbols) while imparting an important fact. Those who look for the historical ark are wasting time and effort.

The Quran specifically states:

007.064 فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَنْجَيْنَاهُ وَالَّذِينَ مَعَهُ فِي الْفُلْكِ وَأَغْرَقْنَا الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَوْمًا عَمِينَ
007.064 But they rejected him, and We delivered him, and those with him, in the Ark: but We overwhelmed in the flood those who rejected Our signs. They were indeed a blind people!

Al-Qur'an, 007.064 (Al-Araf [The Heights])

Pagans brought those back. They were smart enough to realize that a pouring flood of rain is a good time to make a boat.

You forgot the part about all those animals fitting on a boat that measured approximately 150 yds long by 25 yds wide by 15 yds deep.
