They say that after you have a baby, you can lose all but two pounds of the weight. I guess that's our downfall for having children. If you eat right and exercise, you can get your figure back, but it takes a lot of worse. Exercise can help with water retention too. Remember, you don't have to do aerobics to lose weight. Take the baby on a walk each night around the neighborhood when it cools down. Breastfeeding burns calories too, but so does making out, sex, and housework. Every little bit helps. My doctor said laying on your stomach will help your uterus get back to usual shape, but I'm not sure why.
Also, your body will probably never be exactly the same, so don't expect a miracle.

Wow, you're doing well. Keep eating right and when you have been given the all clear, start getting active again. I had a cesarean and wasn't weighed after I was four months along, I wish they did weigh you here, I had gained 50lbs. If I'd known that I would have cut out that peanut butter! My son is nearly a year now and I weigh 12 lbs less than I did before I got pregnant. I started walking religiously after my 6 week check which helped get me started, now I am always running around with my son and playing with him like he is a set of freeweights- he loves the movement! We eat the same foods and I tend to eat his leftovers and drink lots of water, so between eating relatively little and being more active now than I ever was before, I'm looking pretty good.

It takes time. My son is 11 months today and I have only just lost mine. It takes time and careful eating through the day and night. What I do is eat a big breakfast and a small lunch then a light evening meal. But if you are breast feeding then you need to eat more healthy. Just do exercise when you can even if its only 10 Min's here and there. Take your baby out for walks through the day when its nice. I walk nearly every day for about 30-45Min's. Its good for baby and great for you. But you must walk fast not slow. Buy a yoga ball and use that to exercise on, i do and its great. Plus my son thinks its funny when i get it out and do things on it. while your baby is sleeping i know you must do the house work and things like that but just put some music on and make it more exciting. little things like that can help. Good luck

Your baby is four months old. Why are you worried about losing weight. Please don't focus too much on losing weight, give that time to your baby instead. When your little one starts running around, and the time will come before you know it, you'll be doing all sorts of exercises and the weight will come off anyway.

after six months of having my baby, I started eating breakfast, a late lunch (at about 4:00) and I skipped dinners, I'm also doing thirty sit ups a day which is really helping my tummy get tucked inn again, I lost weight and my body is nearly the way it used to be, it works!

It takes about 9 months for your body to return back to what it was before you were pregnant. It will take longer if you are nursing past that. Don't diet if you are nursing, just eat in moderation and avoid salty greasy foods. I started running after I was finished nursing and that seems to be the biggest calorie burner.

Breast feeding is best (for baby nutritionally) - and the best way I found to loose way to baby weight.
If this is not a possibility, diet and excercise are your only options.
There are also excercises you can do while caring for your child.
Ask your physician what is best for you or to reccomend a physical therapist.
Best Wishes with the new baby !

Ask for your entrée for being served on a bed of greens rather than a bed of pasta or mashed apples.

Walk to a co-worker's desk to chat as opposed to instant messaging.

Download your favourite tracks to exercise to. If you’ve committed to a half hour session a day then a 30-minute soundtrack of the extremely upbeat, motivating tunes will retain you pumped up!
