No you were not out of order. She has neighbors and has to respect their space and privacy as well. If she wants to scream like a wild animal in heat, she needs to do it in a small country cottage in the middle of nowhere.

T,
From your other questions, it sounds like you have outgrown the neighbourhood you live in.
I used to live in a flat where the couple above were extremely noisy at night (even when she was at least 8 months pregnant). I coped by changing the bedroom my children slept in and wearing cotton wool in my ears - however that, and their other behaviour, was very stressful and I was very, very glad when they moved after the baby was born.
By all means complain. If you do not know her well, then given its delicate nature, an anonymous note might be more hurtful but less risky, though avoid mentioning the 7 year old - too obvious. Try and be tactful. Explain that you are writing anonymously precisely because it is such a delicate issue, and there is no intention to hurt her feelings, but she needs to know at least one of her neighbours are getting upset.
If you do know her, then a chat over a cup of coffee or tea might be more appropriate - she may simply not realise quite how far the sound travels.
Reporting her to the local government noise control (if you are in the UK) or the police should be the last option, and only if you are planning on moving soon. This would be so embarrassing for her, you cannot be sure how she would react...
Finally, it may be a good idea to talk with other neighbours to see how they feel. If they feel the same way, then joint action will be more forceful (she may even move herself). However, if they are not upset about it, and you are, it shows it is time to move on...

Timothy Leary and his wife were once charged with 'disturbing the peace" while they were in the middle of getting a...well, you get the idea. I would suggest an anonymous note that there are children in the area and a little restraint would be appreciated. Then, if the "event" still occurs, perhaps contacting the local constable might get you better results.

We had one of those behind our bedroom wall in the apartment complex about a year ago. Her noises woke my wife and me on a couple of early weekend mornings, and we decided since we were already awake we would make the best possible use of that time.

Is she yelling while making whoopee and waking your kid? Is that what you mean? Hell yeah, I'd say something to her azz, I don't care if its the same man every night, no one needs to know how far he takes her on her sexual escapades. She probably just yells to make them think they're actually doing something anyway, it can't be that good every night from different men. She keeps up with the different men and she'll be yelling alright, when her vagina's on fire from Gonnorhea or something.

Just move and find neighbours that suit you - you know it makes sense - why waste your time complaining it will just lead to more problems. People are what they are - animals so they will make noise you need to find ones that are a little quieter. Birds of a feather flock together you need to find similar feathered neighbours. C'est la vie.

there is no need to be so loud that you wake the neighbouring children and i don't think kids should hear that kind of thing. she should be ashamed of herself sleeping with different guys and setting a bad example. its not you that's out of order its her.

I don't think your neighbor intentionally makes a ton of racket whilst doing the funky monkey dance... it just happens.
Here's the thing... yes, you have every right to be upset that it wakes your 7 year old.
Do you have any right complaining to your neighbor? Not really.
My recommendation: make one of your priorities when looking for a new place... THICK walls or NO NEIGHBORS.
Welcome to the jungle, baby.
