Stop talking and get dead quiet. Then they have the nerve to tell you to go ahead or ask you why'd you stop talking. Then you answer, because you're not listening, that's why!

Some people who make this complaint especially at work, their complaint is not valid. They pause for a split second too long while their speaking, or they will say "it s the the , or can you totally inviting someone else to complete their sentence and move on, most people are busy at work. When another person doesn t articulate well they are totally inviting this to happen. Yes sometimes people are rude, but often this is not always the case.

I say "What? Does what I have to say not matter?" Then I get up and walk away and when they want to talk I ignore them.

"Excuse me, I was talking."
"Excuse me, can I finish speaking please?"
You don't have to be rude but you also don't have to let them get away with it. If you're resolutely polite, it also shows them up to others as an idiot.
