hey, I just asked a girl to go see a movie with me. she said that she was busy this week, because she's going on a trip in a couple of days (which I know for a fact she is) and she has people staying at her house. was this just a polite way to say no? or would it be good for me to ask her out again when she gets back? thanks.

Hard to think on your feet when your ego (and perhaps heart) is on the line. Since you didn't ask her this question, wait until she gets back and ask her lightly if this is a good time for her to work you into her social calender. If you can't pull of the light thing, then just be your sincere self and ask her for another date or say, "Hey, listen, were you trying to let me down easy, when you said you couldn't go out last time or where you just on overload? Should I try again?"
I wish you exciting summer (and beyond) romance with her or another girl smart enough to say "yes." KEEP TRYING.

If you know for a fact she has people over and shes going away and is getting ready that means shes too busy to go see a movie with you and just said no cuz she is in fact too busy and doesnt have the time. You cant be that much of a jackass. just wait till she gets back and ask again.

I think you should ask her again when she comes back. It does not sound like she was trying to give you the cold shoulder. She has legitimate reason not to go out. I would not go out with a guy if I had guest at my house. That is rude. Ask her again when she gets back. Good luck!

You should give her the benefit of the doubt and give her another chance maybe tell her you would like to go out with her and she can decide the day if she doesn't get back to you then you should move on.

well. most of the tyme its a polite way to say no...but if ur sure thats her excuse is a fact i say go for it and ask her again.. but if she gets another excuse thn 4get it.. also if she seems intersted din u ask again good luck =D
