Instead of preaching to the choir, and trying to convert everyone and their mothers to become churchgoers, why don't you actually do something productive like helping people that are suffering. Sure some churches do clothing drives and canned food drives every once in a while, but come on... 2 hours every sunday could be time much better spent, such as helping people in jail, people on drugs, etc.

But no, you spend your time judging and condemning such people, from the safety of your churches, instead of helping them, the way Jesus went around spending his time.

Jesus didn't spend his Sundays dressing up and singing songs in beautifully furnished temples. In fact, one of the few times he went to Church, he trashed the place.

Get your head out of your a$$es, you so called 'Christians'.

God bless you for putting all your concerns on what Christians are doing and what you think they are not doing. It's nice to know that someone is worrying about us. My question to you is what are you doing for those who are in need and what have you done 4 those who are in jail and have you talked to those who are in bondage not only behind 4 walls but spiritually and mentally?

God bless you for caring!

Shalom

We honor God by taking a few hours out of our week to worship Him. We also learn more during that time about how He wants us to live during the rest of the week, which most of us sincerely try to do. If you think it's about judging and condemning, you haven't been to the right church, or maybe you haven't been listening with your heart. It's not necessary to dress up or go to a "beautifully furnished temple", but some people want to honor God by doing that.

The Bible tells us not to forsake the assembly of oursleves. Christians go to church because the Bible says it is important to fellowship with each other and worship God together.
-How much time do you spend on Yahoo Answers? Couldn't you also use that time you spend on the internet to instead help someone less fortunate than yourself? There is no need to insult anyone, and only a fool is quick to judge!

Because we're not suppose to brag about all our "good deeds". How do you know what we all do out here in our off time? Hmmm? A couple of hours in church once or twice a week is not a sin with God, so it shouldn't be with you either. He who is without sin, let YOU cast the first stone? What you been doing productive to help people out lately? Hmmmm???

Wait a minute. Isn't it you who is judging us.

Actually we spend a lot of time during the rest of the week helping people. More than your suggested two hours a week. In fact my wife is taking dinner to a family whose little girl is in the hospital after being hit by a car. She would actually be upset with me for telling you this. You see she prefers to do things without telling anybody. Saving her rewards for heaven, you know.

Remember the Sabbath day and keep It holy---Sundays are used to gather to pray for needs, give thanks, and gain strength to keep facing our pressures in the world today. It's a place where Christians can come together and unite in prayer and reverence God. I agree that more should be done to help people who are in need. There are people out there doing just that. God gives us ALL a calling, and we should obey so that our lives will be abundant. But we also have to set aside time for God!

What is wrong with giving God a small percentage of even one day? We have 7 days a week and that leaves at least 6 to spend in other ways. Does not our Creator have a right to at least that percentage?

You're right. I shouldn't sit in a unair-conditioned church singing about a man who went around helping people on Sundays. I should do what he did and go out and help. I'll do it next Sunday.....or eventually.
