I am currently dating a guy that I couldn't be happier with. He means so much to me. He was my reason for losing weight, taking better care of myself, and dressing a lot more nicely. Before, I was depressed and needed to drop a few pounds, but now, I'm happy, full of energy, and get enough looks from strangers to know I'm looking better too. He's been my inspiration for so much self-improvement and even when I keep myself from being blind to his faults, I don't think I could find a person more compatible with myself, yet at the same time who so completes my life. I waited nearly nine months before finally asking him out for coffee. Nine long months of growing from a self-doubting, depressed person to a more confident, happy one and I really owe him so much. But should I tell him? I'm a bit of a shy person and I think such a bold confession might blind-side him, to the point where I fear I might scare him off. I know he likes me, but dare I test the relationship by telling him?

yes.
if you're in a relationship with him, and you're serious, then he ought to know that you love him and that he is your inspiration. if that happened to me I'd be absolutely awestruck and to be quite frank, touched. and the only thing it'd make me do is love her all the more.
(P.S. same here. my best friend/ sort of like girlfriend type person has inspired me to do many good things, and she knows it. I'm very devoted to her. ok well... so it's kind of creepy from an outside standpoint... but that's how I feel)

telling him would open him up to how much he means to you. i wouldnt make it way to serious or planned out. i actually just did this last night to a friend- telling them that they have helped you so much isnt always easy, primarily because like me you didnt ever have a lot of self confidence and are shy. i would vote to tell him and it might mean a lot more to him then you would think.i belive it would make him understsand a bit more about you and get the relationship off to a strong start. i think its all good, but again dont make too too big of a deal out of it or he will think your trying to hard. oh lol. try not to cry. i tended to cry last nigh. lol.

PEACE**

No, don't tell him. Let the relationship evolve a bit more. Perhaps, in many years, after you've married, and you're sitting with him in bed, enjoying some pleasant conversation, it would be a romantic thing to reveal.

yes tell him, I have gone through the same thing where I liked a girl for over three years and I told her about 5 months ago, however the fact that I told her hasn't changed anything (it's exactly the same way it was before I told her) she said no but I never give up hope...

i wouldnt tell him every thing at once, maybe just see if he would like to take the relationship to the next step, and see how he reacts, then if it works out, maybe over time you could tell him more and more about what an inspiration he has been to you

Looks like you have to initiate everything in this relationship, so maybe he is used to that sort of thing coming from you.

Yes! I'm sure he would love to hear how happy he has made you feel. Be careful, and time it right.
