Some people who answer these questions are ignorant retards who have never left their hick towns, let alone their country.

Colombia is making good progress these days. Bogota itself is much improved, with many more green spaces, trees and parks. The "Pico y Placa" program has helped reduce traffic and pollution in Bogota. Also, there were recently some laws passed requiring a certain percentage of all vehicles sold in cities with populations in excess of 200,000 people to have alternative fuel engines capable of burning E85 Ethanol fuel.

Uribe has done a lot to support the military and chase the rebels from their traditional strongholds. They are still there, but they have been greatly weakened, especially the ELN.

The economy has been doing great the past several years. The Peso has strengthened against the Dollar and is about where it was (in terms of exchange rate) about 3-4 years ago.

In any case, if you have been away for 2 years and are just returning, I think you will be very happy to see the beautiful country!
