Hmm, I just looked at the Disney Itenerary and it's a little different than many of the other boats. Western typically have 3-4 stops, so that's kinda normal. But Eastern, departing from Puerto Rico, Typically have 5-6 stops and only one full day at sea. Based on that, it's a little more difficult to decide. I think it's probably a toss up and while I found the Eastern Caribbean to be more pleasant, some may like the Western Better.

I personally found the Eastern trip to feel safer and cleaner than a Western (other than Grand Cayman). I found the beaches very accessable via an inexpensive taxi ride, the people more friendly on the whole, and felt like there was more stuff to do without having to sign up for pricey shore excursions.

Make sure that your older teens are comfortable with a Disney cruise - they are really really geared at Disney friendly people. If they will get annoyed with cartoon characters being everywhere and tons of younger kids running around, then perhaps a Royal Caribbean cruise would better suit them...

Good luck to you in your planning! : )
