Why did they break your heart? I can't give you the best revenge without that......... for instance:
Situation 1:
They cheated. Easy one there, let it go. Cheaters always cheat again......
Situation 2:
They stole your signifigant other. Also easy. No vandalism required. Once someone is as dishonest as that, their friends will believe everything you say (even that they got an STD from someone at a bar last weekend who was totally skeevy! They must've made out for hours on end)
General Problem:
Be happy. Let them see you happy. Forget their names. Give them a blank stare for a minute before you say hi and then make like you're anxious to leave them alone.......... and add in any bad info as a backhanded compliment (act like your mom....... ) "so, (fill in name), I see you've lost that weight I always nagged about. That's great, wouldn't want that to continue to ruin your libido, eh? Lord knows that first month is a roller coaster, but that second one can be a crap shoot!........ speaking of which, have you seen those new ads about (insert drug choice here)? It is supposed to really (clear up acne, help with e.d., get your social anxiety in control, stop gas before it starts, etc.)......... I wish I could remember the website! Oh well....... see ya!" (remember to use your best 'mom' smile)

Don't shout: we can hear you.
The reason people answer your "how" question with "you shouldn't" is that they believe you should not do what you are asking how to do.
That is so obvious that we might consider your "banner" question to be rhetorical, and go into the details -- the shouted details. What you say is you need good advice on how to get revenge. Well, living well is the best revenge. If someone who hurt you, who thought you were broken-hearted as a result of their actions sees you living really well, enjoying your life, a new circle of friends, a life they cannot have themselves (I'm assuming here that a couple is the target of your venom; that's the implication behind "can't let them stay together," isn't it?), they will be green with envy. They may also start fighting between themselves with the "see now I'm stuck with you and a lower standard of living," etc.
But sometimes the best revenge with a couple is to let them stay together, bitching and squabbling, holding one another back from a better life, etc. Perhaps they really do deserve each other; know what I mean?
You, on the other hand, do not need the ulcers and grief that comes with continuing to dwell on them. So, go ahead and live well, find a new circle of friends who can share your interests and perhaps yield up a romance twice as good as the one that was broken up, and get your revenge by living well.

Since you've squeezed in two questions here let me address them individually. People are not giving you the how because it is the law of nature that everything eventually returns to you. You reep what you sow. Sow seeds of revenge and destruction and that is what you will get returned to you ten fold. So the good people of Y!A are simply trying to protect you and help you and really you should be grateful for their kindness.
Now to the revenge...I am a witch of some power and I can tell you how to magickally hex your offenders. You must follow all of my instructions, TO THE LETTER no matter how difficult, or the hex will not work. Magick, real magick is not as easy as Harry Potter waving a wand. Not to mention that the consequences of using a hex is dangerous at the very least. Keep in mind, if you get your revenge, your joy will be short lived. Is one moment of stolen joy worth a lifetime of sorrow? I'm easy to find. Contact me if you dare.

Is it going to do you any good to get revenge? It won't mend your heart. Listen, I have had my heart broken a bunch of times and the only thing for it was to just get over it when I was ready to let it go. That way I stayed out of trouble and didn't harm another person which I would have regretted later on. That's how I deal with things anyway. My point is this...how will getting revenge inrich your life and allow you to get past the hurt? I don't think it will.

Revenge is pretty simple, isn't it? You just do something bad to him. Lots of murders are committed for reasons of revenge. How much revenge do you need? Do you need to kill him or will serious injury be enough for you?
Also there is delayed revenge. You could wait ten years and then kill his child. That would hurt him. Or possibly you could burn his house down or throw acid in his face. These are all things people have done to get revenge.
I think when people tell you that you "shouldn't" they are probably just trying to keep you out of jail.

I always heard the best revenge is living well.
If you want some advice on how to be mean and vindictive keep checking back. There are plenty of people here that will
be more than happy to instruct you on how to be scumbag. Me I think it's a waste of time. But I'm sure that's not what you want to hear.
Good luck with that.

sorry it warrants a high and mighty response. Your heart got broken, grow up and move on. Someday you will look back on this and think how stupid you sound right now.

How about you do something nice for them.. If you really love them you should let them go and not plot revenge.. or your love is really twisted.
