I am a lover of life and women . I am simply turned off by cold and phony male bashing intellectuals.

wow ... great question!

so many women on the defensive, this is pretty funny.

Now to your answer....
Dabbling in poety or religion or even taking a modern dance class (and declaring oneself a dancer) ... it's simply someone who is trying to redefine themselves.

Women especially, but sometimes men too, try something new and want to embrace and own the new information (I have a camera and read about photography ..I am now not just a photographer but an artist).

It's just sometime trying to redefine their lives, let them enjoy the journey and try not to laugh when they get huffy. Huffy is for newbies, not grounded poets.

:-)

Well, well...well... I have to say you come up with some pretty interesting questions. Nevertheless, I have been writing poetry since the age of 14. I am now 39. I don't think that I am better than not just everyone else but anyone else. I am also a believer in Christ and had it not been for Him not you nor I my brother would be here to ponder and ask at times some of the most ignorant and asinine questions. Myself included. So there you have it. I go by The Poetess when I do spoken word. And believe me it's all from the heart and soul. Something you may want to look into someday.... not a judgment..just an observation...you seem a bit angry with the world or maybe yourself...I still wish you peace..

I have dabbled in poetry, i won a couple of awards from a prestgious poetry community, but definately don't think it's makes me a better person than everyone else. Maybe a better poet than I used to be, but not THE BEST.
And I'm not very feminist, proud to be a women, but I really am a man lover.
I don't dabble in religion. I'm definately a snob about that. I have faith, but no belief in organized religion.

I dabble in poetry and I consider myself to be spiritual but I don't think that I am better than everyone else. I write poetry in an effort to verbalize my thoughts. I pray and ask God to guide me because without Him, I am lost. Thanks for being a lover of women. We need love. I too am a lover of life. You see...we have something in common. Don't put us all in one basket. Every woman is different. Have a great day.

they dont think they are better than others they just intelectually superior to others because of thier gift of creativity (poetry), knowledge and faith (religion) and THAT is usually a turn on for men ......
you want to have a conversation with a woman that can give you mental /intellectual stimulatin....not a dumb blonde (no offense blondies)

no no.. he's got a point. Ive met my share of snobby poets and religious zealots..
I kick em in their teeth and leave em crying. People suck in general.
Very few out there are actually cool folks.
My advice, simply stay away from those types that step on those to reach their personal petty goals.
