In legal jargon, it is not only a criminal offense. It would be classified as "aggravated" which could be a felony depending on where you live (not even all US states have exactly the same definitions). To steal: To permanently deprive a person the use of an item. Basically, if they own it and you permanently deprive them of it, even if they don't use it, it's still stealing.

Now just why are you asking?

stealing is illegal no matter who you steal from. Just the fact that you are thinking about stealing from a blind person sickens me.

Stealing from a blind person is illegal and disgusting! It's taking advantage of someone who cannot defend himself/herself.

It's wrong. It's a sin. It's just plain disgusting.

Yes. You did use the word "steal," didn't you? So what does the disability of the victim have to do with whether or not it's illegal?
