If it was a puncture would the baby might need tetanus shot..If it is just a scrape, only cleansed with diluted betadine, and neosprin or such appliied.
Assuming it is your, or a friends dog, and not a stray, who might carry rabies.

What? You let a puppy around an infant? And you want to know if the baby needs a vaccination for the dog bite? He/She might need some antibiotics. Come on now. A puppy will always play bite, cause that's what puppies do. How badly was your infant bitten. Dog bites can have very nasty bacteria. I hope you will take your child to the doctor IMMEDIATELY to make sure the site won't become infected.

Has the puppy been vaccinated for rabies yet? If it broke the skin you need to cleanse it well , put neosporin on , keep it covered and watch for signs of infection. Children and infants should never be left alone with animals. Even the best dog in the world is still an animal and therefore unpredictable. A lot worse could happen than a small bite. You should probably call your pediatrician just to be safe.

I wouldnt think so unless your puppy hasnt had his shots, but if it broke the skin you might want to take the baby to the doctor...just to be sure, and if its bleeding real bad i'd go to the hospital
