I am a follower of Jesus Christ, and no, I don't believe He approves of the methods you describe. Probably the biggest problem I have with those who badger, scream, and otherwise seek to intimidate unbelievers into "turning or burning" is that these people don't demonstrate the "fruit of the Spirit" as described in Galatians. Paul says that those who walk in the Spirit will demonstrate that by the fruit in their lives. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, faithfulness, gentleness, kindness, goodness, and self-control. They may be (in a sense) speaking the truth, but we are also told to "speak the truth in love."
Are these people even working on "God's side"? Perhaps they work for the opposition since they seem to turn people away from God more than they steer them in His direction.

Well I am agnostic but it clearly states in the Bible that God is a jealous God. So with this in mind then yes they would believe that God would approve. Christians are ignorant about there own beliefs, the word hell literally means the grave. You will return to dust, it clearly states that everyone will go to hell. It states that you will be resurrected and judged, those judged to go to heaven go to heaven, those judged not to go to heaven return to the grave and cease to exist. If I am wrong about being an agnostic, then what do I care if I cease to exist, I won't exist to care because things that do not exist can't feel or think anything. They don't exist. This concept is very hard for some people to grasp, some just want you to suffer because you did not believe what they did. Very childish concept, I guess it stems with the belief that thing should be fair if you do what you are told, but that is just not how the world works. No one ever said life was fair, I really don't think death would be fair either.

I couldn't presume to know that God approves of, I can only surmise. And I do not believe that God would approve of these methods as it would seem to chase people further away from Him.
Let me tell you something that happened to me...I was walking in a small mall and a man came up to me and asked me if I believed in Jesus. I tried to be nice, said yes. He would not let it go. I told him my husband was a pastor, thinking that would shut him up. No, he kept at it saying that didn't mean I was saved. So here I am a Christian, wife of a pastor, but tht is not good enough for this doofus.
Perfect example of what you are experiencing. He wasn't even happy that I was a believer, he just wanted to get his rant out. So it wasn't about his love and concern for me, it couldn't have been.
I don't know what their M.O. is, but it certainly isn't really trying to convert people, because that will chase good people right off the sidewalk into traffic to get away from what he's selling.

God does want the word out that the end is near,he wants to gather his people he doesn't want any of us to be left behind.sometimes we have to be scared into the wright path we all need to know that life doesn't stop here there is eternal life scripture proves it.I REALLY DON'T THINK ABOUT THE RAPTURE MUCH MY BIGGEST WORRY IS THAT WE ARE NOT Promised tomorrow that should be what turns someone into the wright path u see God clearly says if we don't believe and accept Jesus Christ in our hearts then we will not be able to enter the gates of heaven and if were not serving him then surely we are serving satan we cannot have 2 masters.Hell is a very real place and it's somewhere i surely don't want to spend eternity or for any of my family members.I hope you understand that those people standing on corners yelling are battling for you.

Oh, I get it, you would prefer we stay in our houses and keep quiet, right? I'm sorry, I thought the freedom of speech was meant for all Americans, as long as no laws are broken. You will find the great people of faith in the Scriptures and beyond were confrontational, they did not simply spout platitudes about peace and love. If you don't like it, walk away. I don't like it when homosexuals march in the streets making demands in all their "glory", but they have the right to do it. Aren't you guys suppose to be the tolerant ones?

I am sure that not all "Christians" are doing what they are called to do the right way. We are supposed to tell the whole world about Jesus and the fact that He made a way for us to avoid hell, but we are supposed to spread peace and love as well.
God made all of us with free will so you and I both get to choose whether we believe or not. Obviously that way (yelling about hell and damnation) is not the way that you will be reached, but what will? Do you need a burning bush type sign?

I went out with a friend of mine the other night. We were on our way to the local bar. After leaving the car and walking down the sidewalk we were confronted by a young group of Christians who were only trying to get us to think about God for a little bit. They were very kind and I talked to them for a little bit. My friend walked off eventually and yelled at me to come on. I thanked the people I was talking to and left. Afterwards I asked my friend what it was that caused him to be so rude. He said he didn't like people trying to force religion on him. I told him it could have been a lot worse. I pointed to the scar on the back of my head and asked him if he would be more comfortable being questioned by some thugs that want to take your money or by these Christians. He got the point pretty quick. Count your blessings.

They believe they're trying to SAVE you. Christianity is NOT all about peace and love. If it was, then God wouldn't have rained down so much destruction on people who didn't believe in Him. (Old Testament)
Christianity does preach tolerance for your fellow man - and forgiveness - however, it also unequivocally advocates that no man shall enter the kingdom of heaven and have everlasting life if he does not believe in God.
Jehovah's Witnesses are the worst. Why oh why oh why? Has anyone you've known been converted on their doorstep?

God has said to Go forth and make disciples of ALL the nations sometimes this means getting in peoples faces and sometimes this means making nice nice. I don't see anything wrong with people standing on corners TALKING now if they were kidnapping people and cutting thier heads off... Oh yeah that is the OTHER side.

You are totally right the bible says with love and kindness have I drawn men unto me......I know some people are soooo concern about people's soul they try to scare people into accepting Jesus.....I believe they mean well but to some it only irritates then to accept it like that. So all I could say is just ignore them or accept what they are saying because this is a free country and it's their right.
