That's a good idea. My dad and I built one for our dogs. We put lights in it to keep them warm in the winter, and then there's some vents that can be opened in the summer when the warm lights are turned off.
Pretty much, just build a box for you dog. What we did was it was partially assembled in the car port, and then when everything was built, cut out, etc., we took all of it into the dog kennel and assembled it in there. We have two large dogs so we wouldn't have been able to lift the whole thing up and carry it in.
If you don't want to build a house for your dog, you can buy one from somewhere like PetSmart or Sam's Club. Try looking on the internet for the dog houses that stay cool in the summer. Searching the internet for dog houses might give you some ideas if you decide to build one too!

How do you know he loves it? Did he tell you?
Dogs should ALWAYS have a place to get out of the hot, especially if they are a long haired dog.
Get him a dog house and make sure he always has fresh cool water to drink

What he will need is all day shade and a source of water. Some dogs like to cool themselves with water so a plastic wadding tub might work. You might get one of those igloo type dog houses.

Definately provide your dog with some kind of shade because too much heat is very bad for dogs and can make them very sick.
