And do not try the "science theory" reason, because The dictionary defines science as "The observation, identification, description, and experimental investigation of phenomena.
Note the words...EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION. the bible gives us dates of when the testimonies where given. It also has told us eveything to expect in our future.(chernobyl, Isreal, Ect) The sludge and goo they tested and say we came from isnt dated. And what about the artifacts of the ark? Good Luck Trying to convince the God fearing Christians he DOESNT exist!

I do not believe in a fearful God

My God is nothing but Love. Not judgmental or fear inducing.

Only love.

God bless

Something close. For starters, there is a shocking amount of evidence that divine intervention is a creation of the human psyche - the Holocaust, genocide in Darfur, the rise of several horrific totalitarian rulers (Stalin, Hussein, etc.). Then there are natural disasters and disease, which still take millions of lives each year, although in the past they took far more. Yet miracles are still sited as evidence that God is intervening. When the 1 out of 100,000 cancer patients have a tumor recede, it is often looked at as an act of God. Yet this anomaly is predicted by probability - given enough patients, this is bound to happen. Furthermore, siting this as an act of divine intervention means that God has deemed the other 99,999 cancer patients suitable for death, even if many of them are just children. If there is a God who allows this, I would choose not to worship him.
But if there is no divine intervention, then the acts of the Bible so prominently touted in sermons, including the Pillar of Fire, the Great Flood, the parting of the Red Sea, cannot have happened exactly as described. Instead, they must be literary exaggerations, metaphors or parables, not true stories. The same can be said of the Creation story; there is indisputable scientific evidence from fossil records, carbon dating, and basic laws of physics that the universe was not created in seven days 6000 years ago, but rather several billion years ago, forming the known universe over that expanse of time. Also, various passages from the Bible that say the Earth is the center of the universe and unmoving have also become metaphors so that they can fit with modern science.
Then there are passages in the Bible that (almost) nobody in modern society would support. Most notably, it states that slavery is allowed, as long as the slaves are from a foreign nation (many slaveholders used this passage to justify slavery. Then there is the passage that states that eating shellfish is an abomination. These passages cannot be interpreted as metaphors of figurative language, as they are explicit commands.
Therefore, the Bible must be made figurative in parts, and simply untrue in others. It is illogical that God designed his absolute word to be so open to interpretation, if it was the absolute truth. If the universe was made over the course of billions of years, why say otherwise? Why say the earth was the steadfast center of the universe, if it would only lead the persecution of such wise (and ultimately, correct) men such as Copernicus and Galileo? And above all, why say slavery should allowed, if it is such a morally reprehensible act?
We interpret the Bible as we see fit, so we will always see the truth in it. If, three hundred years from now, evolution has become so undisputable that even the Bible can stand before it, we will reinterpret the Creation story to form an allegory, just as we did with Copernicus's heliocentric theory. The interpretation of the Bible is not absolute, but rather, continuously modified to fit current norms. Just I cannot believe in divine intervention, I cannot believe in the absolute truth of a book that is neither absolute nor always true.

How do you prove something doesn't exist when there is no evidence he does? If you had evidence to present we would disprove it. But you don't, I'll address what you did put down though. It told you what to expect in the future, because that's the first time anything similar has ever happened right? Because I'm pretty sure there has been war in religion obssessed countries forever, that's not new and completely predictable. Plus I could say there will be war in England and within the next 2000 years it will happen. Chernobyl, I'm not sure what your refering to that predicted that but I'm sure there have been earthquakes, tornadoes and other things that have happened that have equalled it in devastation in th past. The ark artifacts, all that proves is that a long time ago there might have been a flood, and some guy might have built a boat, good proof.

Christians also believe in talking snakes and 900 year old men. The Bible tells us NOTHING about our future. That nonsense you mentioned can be used throughout history. The Ark is a joke. Two of every animal in the world in a little boat for 40 days ? Yeah right. Ok, world wide, on average, 10,000 children a day die from starvation and related causes. So much for your "all loving", "all powerful" god ! BTW, it's Sunday, why are YOU even online ?

I am agnostic. The fact of the matter is, is that it is the responsibility of the person making the claim to prove it's validity or not. It is not my responsibility because I have not made the claim weather God exist or not. Science appears to be flawed to you because it is an ever evolving thing, just like the Universe it self, a claim that you make that God created it. The Bible is cut and dry, black and white, ridged and stiff, never changing, not at all like the universe. That is why the Bible contradicts reality and it self. It is the Bible it self that is in question, it is not rational to use the very thing that is in question to prove it self.

The bible is not a good source for scientific fact. Contrary to your post, nowhere in the bible is Chernobyl mentioned. Also, an ark from the supposed "Noah" was never found.

Okay, just because you believe in God and are a Christian, doesn't mean that everybody does. I mean, not everybody has the ability to believe in something they can't see. And I used to be a Christian, and what I find hard to believe is that if God is so wonderful, why is this world the way it is? And don't tell me it's because of Satan, because I strongly believe that no deity, no matter what they are called, can't make you do something you didn't already want to do. It's because of these points right here that I'm a Wiccan.

I wouldn't think of trying to convince anyone of anything, most especially to try to convince people away from their religious beliefs. But they are beliefs, and believing them doesn't make them true unless you have faith.
Your question asking for proof that something does not exist is impossible. It is impossible to prove that anything does not exist unless one can claim omniscience. Omniscience itself cannot be recognised without omniscience, so once again any belief in omniscience is an article of faith, of belief.
My questions to you are: why do you feel that you need to convince others of your beliefs? Are your beliefs validated by convincing others? If so, is this a lack of faith?
Thank you.

OK I'll play devils advocate for this one. Proof he doesnt- when a young innocent childs life is taken. people of the world that are starving and dieing EVERY day through no fault of their own. What 'just' god allows such suffering and misery?

Yes but it depends on your definition of "god". In some cases god's existence can be disproved. That doesn't matter though, the burden of proof is on the believer.
