You are 14 years old, if you don't have nothing to hide, why do you care what she looks at? I bet since you stay up that late at night playing on the computer that you sleep all day too, don't you? Be glad that you are not mind, cause I would know EVERYTHING that you did on the computer and you would only be allowed on the computer until a certain time (10pm when no school is going on/with school going 9pm, but only after school work is done) and then you would get off. Your mom is going easy on you!!!!!

Who pays the bills?? Who pays for the electricity? Who pays for the internet service? Who paid for the computer?
Mom and Dad have every right to see what exactly you do on the computer, you're fourteen, not forty. Living in their house where they make the rules, you have to follow them. If you aren't doing anything wrong you have nothing to worry about, if you are, that's a whole different problem.

As a parent, I have to commend your mother for wanting to see what it is that you're doing on the computer but have to question her decision in allowing you to chat throughout the night on it. There are way too many predators out there and, no offense, at your age, you're too likely to inadvertently give out information to allow these people to find you. In our home, computer time is closely monitored for our kids as well. It's not that we don't trust our kids, we don't trust a lot of the other people online!

You are a minor living in her home. She has the right to know what you are doing on the computer. Maybe you should spend your time on your spelling rather than on chatting.

Either let her or risk the possibility of losing your computer privileges.

Under her roof, you have to play by her rules. If you have nothing to hide, what's the big deal?
