Perhaps there is truth about the law: it comes as a thief, to steal, to kill, and to destroy. And perhaps there is truth about grace: "grace is sufficient"(no law req'd).
Perhaps of plural and contrary law vs grace "scriptures" it is only the singular grace us script-u-are that is "inspired of God" in 2Tim 3:16; the other being a worse case scenario to avoid: mark and avoid them which cause division; discern(avoid) both good & evil.
Law: is good, but it is also evil.
Grace: also good, but never evil.
Pst - God saw only good in Gen 1.
Law: is holy, but also "unholy"(2Tim 3:2)
Grace: also holy, but never unholy.
Pst - Holy Bible is not Holy Holy, just Holy
Law: is spiritual, but spiritual abuse (legalism)
Grace: is also spiritual, but it's never abusive
Pst - dare to compare spiritual with spiritual
Of left/right law/grace, grace is what's right with God.
The "grace" of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

Study it, learn it, believe it, live it. Yes, it is all true according to God (with whom I tend to believe 100%). But we need to rightly divide it in order to understand it in it's fullness. If we take bits and pieces from the Bible, we could start our own denomination (you know how frequently that happens). I have a friend who completely believes in Jesus as his Savior, however, we have had some debate as to what he has been taught. We both believe in salvation through Christ, once saved always saved...however, there was a piece of scripture he told me his minister preached about that had to do with tithing. I was baffled. So, we read the whole story behind it, and he realized what was actually happening. That's a case where there is a need to rightly divide the word of truth. There are a lot of wolves in sheeps clothing, so many can be decieved. I guess that is the main charge for studying and rightly dividing the Word.

Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment is holy, just and good. For we know the law is spiritual; but I am carnal, sold under sin. Then if I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. For I delight in the law of God in the inward man. Romans 7:12, 14, 16, 22
2 Timothy 3:2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,
This is not saying that the law is unholy. This is referring to people.
The law is not unholy. It shows men their unholiness and need of a Savior. It is the schoolmaster to Christ (Galatians 3:24).
But, indeed, we are not saved by the law. We are saved by grace, but I had not known grace had my sinfulness not been made known unto me by the law.

To rightly divide is to discern the truth in the scriptures to the point of knowing what God was saying to us, for us, and about us. It is good to study to get confirmation about what God is talking to you about. It is all for the purpose of knowing God so you can know yourself. It does no good what so ever to read the Word if you are not dividing properly. The original text had now periods, question marks, paragraphs or sentences. It was all written in scroll form. You were expected to be in the spirit to read it and therefore know where the divisions were at. It makes all the difference in the World as to how it is read. It is alive and will speak confirmation to you as one of the two or more. The Spoken word and the written word, will always confirm what the Teacher is telling you.

What is entailed in “handling the word of the truth aright”?
The Greek word rendered “handling aright” literally means “straightly cutting” or “to cut a path in a straight direction.” Only in Paul’s admonition to Timothy is that term used in the Christian Greek Scriptures. The same word could be used to describe plowing a straight furrow across a field. A crooked row would certainly prove to be an embarrassment to a seasoned farmer. To be “a workman with nothing to be ashamed of,” Timothy was reminded that no deviation from the true teachings of God’s Word would be allowed. Timothy was not to permit his personal views to shape his teaching. He was to center his preaching and teaching strictly on the Scriptures. (2 Timothy 4:2-4) In this way, honesthearted individuals would be directed to have Jehovah’s mind on matters, not to adopt worldly philosophy. (Colossians 2:4, 8) The same is true today.

If you didnt rightly divide the Word of Truth, we would still be sacrificing animals. You must make sure that you are not making something a doctrine today that is not in effect now.
Like the law vs. grace. OT and NT. rightly dividing word of truth
