i happen to own a springfield armory 1911 military spec in 45 apc great gun love it but i was kinda disappointed when i found out it was made in brazil i thought they where made in the usa but was decieved if you take you 1911 and turn it upside down and look at the end of the barrel little past the trigger guard you will see the words Embel brazil thats the company they licensed to produce them in a rain forest sweat shop but the steel is real good and mine never gave me any trouble jamming but had i known it was made in brazil i probably would not have bought it there kinda missleading saying springfielsd is the oldest american gun manufacturer and trustest name then produceing guns in brazil and not really informing the buyer still a good gun though

Contact the factory by letter.
Each firearms company has a historian for this purpose.

Good Luck!
