There is no need to come here. With Romania entering EU on Jan1 2007 you'll have a lot better opportunities than to come here and work slave jobs. Take my advise, I made a mistake coming here to this consumption-frenzied xenophibic society.
If you are a foreinger, the chances of getting a good job are very low. Stay in Europe, it's better.
Of course you can apply for the Green Card lottery. Chances are slim as with any lottery, but if you really want to...
Once you win the lottery, you get a Green Card and a resident status and in 5 years you can apply to become a citizen.

No one can go directly to 'citizen'. Why don't you apply for college and a student visa? Otherwise, unless you have skills, the lottery might be your best bet.

LEGALLY....you can apply to become an American Citizen; first you will need to take courses to learn the American government structure, the US Constitution, and other things that all Americans need to know..... do it legally and I say, "Welcome to your new country....."

gdlmam ~ Sadly you are misinformed.........its not as easy as you are suggesting because I am married to an American Citizen and I have no more rights than an illegal......it don't work that way hun...........you need to check your facts first before speaking !
