Clearly the doctrines of Islam inspire more violence than any other written word. Whats wrong with acknowledging this?

Can you take anyone seriously who denies this? The expression "all religions have their extremists" is the ugliest form of political correctness. The logic of these PC wackos is amazing...they in essence thus claim that all religions have the same degree of extremists and thus no religion can be more violent, than another. What sheer madness!

Suppose I invent a religion call "wack-all-babbie-in-cradle" and teach baby abuse...you dont suppose such a religion, if it were to grow, could inspire more child abuse than another?

Why the fear of speaking straight. You PC wackos, do you have any idea the harm you do? It is because of you that i truely believe the Islamists have a real chance.

You are right that there is nothing wrong with pointing out the violence in certain religions. Some religions DO inspire more violence than others. What you are wrong about is your narrowing to Islam only. The violence is shared by ALL those religions that are based on "god's" covenant to Abraham (i.e. Judaism, Islam, and Christianity) whom I will call the "Abrahamaniacs". No other religious tradition can keep up with them when it comes to violence, war, murder, bloodshed. The only group that can even rival the Abrahamaniacs for war mongering and murder is the Communists and they are not a religion.

The pagans haven't been as bad. At least when the Greeks and Romans (pre-Christian Rome) were fighting and warring, it was based on political, military, monetary and cultural reasons. (Trojan war, for example). They asked for the gods blessings but god wasn't the reason.

The ONLY truly peaceful religion is Buddhism. They have been consistent in their pacifism, peace and tolerance throughout their 2600 year history.

Shout out to the Jehovah's Witness -- you may be correct about JWs being non-violent. However, seeing as the JW belief system hasn't even made it to the 200 year mark, I didn't include them in the 100% peaceful religion category because JWs came out of a 3000 year religious tradition of bloodshed and violence called Judeo-Christianity.

Islam does not inspire more violence than other religions! Currently this seems to be the case because most muslims around the world are dissatisfied with the problems in the Arab world and the more radical ones see the west as starting an unofficial "war against islam" in many respects. I am not denying that there is violence inspired by religious ideas but how can you accurately say that one religion inspires more than another?
We have entered a period in history where muslims are being discriminated against due to 9/11 and are further aggrivated by the war in Iraq (an Arab Muslim country) & Israel vs. Palestine as well as Israel vs Hezbollah and now the rest of Lebanon, muslim or otherwise.
Considering all of the extremist problems emerged originally from muslims in Arab nations but not from muslims elsewhere around the world (such as Indonesia which is the largest muslim country on earth), why don't you blame Arabic/Middle eastern culture as the root of the problem?

maybe the answer isn't as straightforward as you think.

(This is the answer to your other question which was recently deleted.)

There are fundamental differences between war for something and blind violence. The reason Muslims point out the Crusaders is that when they conqured Jeruselum they kill each and every muslim they can lay hands on brutally. It is said that blood was up to the knees of the horses. And when Muslims recaptured the city Christian civilians and religious persons were not harmed. Is this not something that is worth comparing?

As for what you gave from the Quran with "context" the correct context would be clear from below.

"O ye who believe! Truly the Pagans are unclean; so let them not, after this year of theirs, approach the Sacred Mosque. And if ye fear poverty, soon will Allah enrich you, if He wills, out of His bounty, for Allah is All-knowing, All-wise. Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya (Yearly tax, Muslims pay Zakat Non-Muslims pay Jizya) with willing submission"

Yes Islam does calls on Muslims to establish the rule of God. So as to provide peace and justice to all human beings. People cannot be just left in unjust rule as was in Iran and Rome at that time. All rights of non-muslims are as secure under Islamic rule as rights of Muslims. Muslims have no prefrence in law over non-muslims in such a state. It will do you good to read more about it form an unbiased source.

Now you will say why force something upon you, you do not want. In the above given scenario you are not deprived of anything yours. Your beliefs, your practices (as long as they don't interfere with other), your religious ceremonies, Churches, your religious laws. The only thing it takes from you is the power over other human beings to enforce laws you think are correct. The purpose as I understand is to give all human beings a peacful and safe society in which they are all facilitated towards forming and holding their own beliefs according to their own judgement without any kind of pressures and unjust.

Actually, Christianity seems to be the most violent throughout history. With the fall of the Roman Empire, the librarian of Alexandria was pulled off her carriage and skinned alive. Literacy dropped. Even the Pope had to have the Bible read to him. In the first crusade, Christians killed tens of thousands of people they called "infidels". The Children's Crusade (1212) caused the deaths of nearly 50,000 children. Preachers sentenced to death and executed thousands during the Inquisition (1233-1834) for heresy and witchcraft. There were the the Salem witch trials (1692) in America. The 17th Century Thirty Years War (Catholics v. protestants) wiped out tens of millions in Europe. In the Taiping Rebellion in China in the 1850's a Christian cult started a war that resulted in the slaughter of twenty million people. In the Holocaust six million Jews were murdered. Muslims and Christians in Bosnia reached a death toll of over 250,000.

Christianity and Islam like to kill their fellow human beings, and inspire more violence than others, but they hate to admit that fact.

Religion is responsible for the majority of wars, conflict and murder of innocent life since humanity began. I know there are many nice people who believe in God, but the real evil amongst us, are the vast majority of religious followers and believers who have clearly shown over time to be the major instigators of wars, violence, abuse, greed and practically everything evil on our planet.

Even according to Genesis in the Bible, God is clearly the greatest mass murderer in history. The Bible is full of terrible atrocities and evil, far more than nice things, but of course believers will just ignore or twist the atrocities into whatever soothes their confused minds.

Everyone knows of murders and violence associated with Christianity and Islam, I suppose all of the other major religions have a track record of killing their fellow human beings as well.

I think the point is that how "Extreme" someone is in a religion isn't about how much they meet the doctrines of the religion, but how much they're willing to follow it in ways that are against the "Standard." Really, the islamic population isn't really Islam, because a lot of them DON'T follow the violent rules. Oh well.

All religions are equally prone to violence. There are certain sects of Tibetan monks that will actually shoot and kill each other. The logic of "PC wackos" is closer to fact than opinion. There are extremists in every religion.

"Clearly the doctrines of Islam inspire more violence than any other written word."

lmao,

Clearly, you know nothing of the history of Christianity.

Over 6 million Jews persecuted and slaughtered by Christians and you want a head-count of which religion is more violent?

How about the tens of thousands of innocent people called "witches"? Not enough?

Crusades? Enslavement of Africans? Attempted genocide of aboriginal peoples and cultures?

Perhaps those of us you label "PC wackos" are simply better informed than your average simplistic right-wing bigot.

Now you have a nice day, y'hear.

P.S., thanks for drawing the bigots out of their dens. Now we know a little more about who they are.

What's wrong is that rather than support your "recognition" with the historical and political details the topic demands, you just go right-wing wacko on PC wackos, which makes them more wacko. So if you believe PC wackos are doing harm, then by inciting them, you are doing harm.
