NEVER buy used rope.. you don't know where it's from or who used it for what purpose...
NEVER buy rope at a flea market.. only from well-know dealers.. i once knew someone who did and the material used was carpet fibers!! would you want to put you life in the hands of carpet fibers?...
try these places.. you'll have to order it online (rather from your local outdoors store) if you want more than 50 feet..

REI, Sierra Trading Post, or your local specialty outdoor shop.
sierratradingpost.com
most ropes are 200 feet in length. if you begin climbing outdoors make sure your climbs are less than 100 feet so you can get back down (or else you will need 2 ropes). i would recommend beginning indoors; many climbing gyms offer belay and climbing classes.
Good Luck :)

they have ropes made special for climbing they are usually made of manmade materials and of different diameters but get the best rope that you can find as its your life that hangs in the balance if you use an weak or inferior rope.
