I actually keep a journal that I write hidden in a bunch of folders so no one can find it on my computer. If I'm having a really bad day I usually write in it, or I write when I feel like it, and it does make me feel better in a way. I didn't tell anyone about it but I still got to let it out, even if no one will ever read it. I re-read some of it occasionally, and some of the things I was depressed about before don't seem nearly as bad now.

yes, I do think writing is good for the soul. It helps you calm down and to be able to express yourself more clearly. It lets you reflect back on way you may be stress/depress at that moment. Its a good way to start a journal and keep you inter most thougths clear and precise in thinking. This may help you become less stress/depress. IF stress/depress issues are more harmful to you, then you should seek professional help.

I've been writing out my dissatisfaction's with life for years and yes I do think it helps a lot. Sure beats telling people that misunderstand and add fuel to an already too hot fire. I can vent my feelings and nobody need hear it. And when I read it later I can see different perspectives and routine patterns I need to work on.

Yes writing is a good way to gather thoughts and clarify issues I ones life.

yes it does, i wrote my best poems when i was depressed. and i also kept a jpournal, everytime i was mad or sad or depressed i typed everything i was thinking and gave that to my counselor, helped her tell how i think when i am mad and not just by what i tell her, was easier for her and helped me to type it all out and get it out of my head. I would reccomend it, even if you dont give it to a counselor. even to reread it and see what you are actually thinking, might help you think different too. I bought a small usb device to keep all my journal on so i dont have to worry about anyone reading it on my computer, just keep it with you at all times, that helps too, so you can do it other places too and not just at home.

hope everything goes well for you, good luck

I definitely think it has helped me alot! When I am stressed, depressed, or freaking out, I always take a moment to analyze it all on paper. Usually it helps.

Hi, I think the key here is to engage in what ever activity that alleviates the present predicament, ie, stress. If writing and expressing yourself helps you achieve this then that is fine.

Hope this helps

You may want to try making connecting circles in a continuous manner clear across the page. You will be able to tell when you are letting go by the wider circular pattern you will develop When you start, they will be pretty tightly fitting together..the more you do the more open they become..

Some times. It's kind of like confessing some of your deepest darkest thoughts to a completely understanding, sympathatic un-biased ear. I have a journal that I have never shown any one and it is so wonderful to have- I know it's always there!
