they get angry over the slightest thing, like stupid cartoons even. the christians and buddhists dont care. they dont immediately issue a death sentence whenever something bad is written or made about them. i think the christians and buddhists are a more tolerant bunch,

First of all not ALL muslims are sensitive and angry. Second, in regards to the cartoons depicting mohamed they were upset about that because it is a major sin for them to have depictions of mohamed. They feel that a depiction may someday down the road in the far future lead to mohamed being worshiped as god like the christians do with jesus and they don't want that because it would be worshipping a false god to them. Muslims as a whole are much MORE tolerant then most of the christians I know (don't really know any budhists so can't compare them). The ones you hear about on TV and in the news are generally only terrorist factions that represent a very small portion of the muslim world. If all anyone heard of Christianty were the actions of the KKK they would probably make the same accusations about christians. Same could be said of Zionists and Jews. In other contexts many muslims are outraged because they feel like they are constantly under attack. Which I don't blame them for, look how many stupid and hateful things are said about them on the site alone. I bet that half the answers to this question will be hatefull against muslims. Israel keeps trying to grab more than there share of land and continues to kills and torture Palestininans. This has muslims upset because this has been going on for a long time and noone ever helps the palestinians but Israel is given millions in aid every year. Besides that look at the recent unfounded war in Iraq. The wrongful invasion and killings on Lebanon and and the torture of Muslim prisoners in Guantanamo. The media protrays muslims as being terrible but nooene does their onw research to find out if their being fed a lie (or even an ommitance of truth) or not. You should better research issues like this to understand whats going on. Muslims feel they have been under persecution from christians and jews since the time of Mohamed and they feel the whole world is against them. This is why they often are very passionately outspoken on these issues especially when so many never even try to get the whole story behind many of these conflicts. Don't listen only to the media do your own research. The internet is a wonderful resaerch toll and yyou should use it to it's full extent!

first, we r not a bunch, we r communities, every religion has a community of its own. well abt the cartoons u call stuipd, we -muslims- r forbidden 2 draw or body our prophet, coz it's forbidden and considered a sin, so it really pisses us off when some1 hurt what we believe in. i'll give u an example, when madonna made a video clip with crosses on fire behind her in a song called (i think) like a prayer, the pope was looking into forbidding her from going into any church, so it's obvious that we r not hyper sensitive. when someone make fun of what u believe in, it hurts, and it's a normal reaction 4us 2get angry.
p.s. madonna is abt 2perform near the catholic church in rome, and her performance includes her singing a song crossified and putting on her head the ring that was on jesus, head when crossified, which i think is very disgusting from her-if it matters 2 u-.

well...there are probably several reasons, but perhaps 'sensitive' isnt the best word. According to Mohammad, and the Koran, they opppose all who do not agree with their teachings, mainly mainly Jews, but also Christians. Their biggest opposition is towards Israel, and that makes them violent because it apparently belong to them first, but then the Bible says that Israel occupied it first. Its really complicated.

Why does anyone feel the need to insult and anger others? I am a Catholic and although I can disregard much that is disrespectful of my faith I do not understand why one would feel so insecure as to need to insult another.
