I agree with you. Trying to read some of the questions on this site is like trying to read some kind of secret code. I usually get frustrated and go on to the next one. It makes me wonder what they are teaching at schools and it also makes me glad that I work on my son's grammar at home. "Thank you" is not the same as "have a nice day". They also do not say "yes ma'am" or "no sir", unless they live in the South and sometimes not then (but don't let an adult catch them not saying it, they get in big time trouble!). I wish there was a class that was mandatory for people on how to be polite, write correctly, and use proper english. It makes me sound old-fashioned or at least old, but at 34 to many on this site I am!

OK when you complain about the Fifty Cent thing, remember he is a RAPPER and that IS the name he uses. So make sure you have the right one there. Anyway yeah most are just getting lazy. They do it because they think that it is cool or something. You know I understand when text messaging started. See in the old days it was because you only had so much space, like 15-20 characters or so, or you were charged by character basically. Now that they rarely use the full allotment, and they wouldn't if they spelled the words out, and they send them like nothing they simply don't have an excuse. Then they go into the REAL world and find out that those poor language skills will make it hard for you to find employment, but they can't understand why.

If English grew to become into made the respected language could there be as super of an unlawful alien subject as there is straight away? it may make no distinction as a techniques because of fact the quantity of illegals in this united states of america. they could all be crying racism if we made English the respected language of the U.S. in basic terms usa must be the worlds jerk off. maximum countries have an respected language. i'm specific the left could have not any concern with making Spanish the respected language of the U.S. everyone who objected, they could accuse you of being a racist.

Unfortunately, unless parents get involved with their child's learning, no one will be there to correct them when they make errors. Parental correction reinforces proper usage of the AmE (American English) language. It can be fun, too, having spelling quizzes at home, and vocabulary building list for each week.
Teachers can only do so much in an hour. They can't observe your child's speech 24 hours a day.

I have teen age daughters { lord help me} Lucky for them I am cool so I understand the lingo. What I hate though is when they do something they will say they are sorry and thats it.
I try to explain to them that just because you have said you are sorry doesn't make the deed or the pain connected with it go away. They just do not seem to get that.

And they grow up to be president and can't pronounce 'nuclear'.
Galling, too, is that our incompetant education systems and their co-conspirators-the parents-don't teach the kids to recognize and avoid double negatives like 'can't hardly' and that head-banging nonsense anti-phrase, "I could care less" when clearly they mean the opposite.

It's our educational system. It sucks. Plus, today's kids are lazy and don't put enough effort into studying. They would rather play video games or talk on their cell phones.

I agree. And why do they think that wearing their pants, with the waist band around their knees is cool? I think it looks sloppy.
