Hmmm... Conversely, why do people insist that the most credible book on Earth must be wrong about what happens when you die??? Long before we knew anything about microbiology, the Israelites washed their hands before eating because the Bible told them to. Years later this actually enabled Jews to survive the Plague so much better than their European neighbors that they were actually blamed for it. Long before Alexander the Great ushered in Hellenism, died and had his kingdom divided between his three Generals, the Prophet Daniel foretold it in detail. He also foretold the fall of the Second Temple at Jerusalem, though he wrote his prophesies during a time period before the Second Temple was even planned, much less built. No other book in all the world's known history -- either religious, scientific or philosophical has even been proven right on more theoretically "unknowable" counts than the Bible. So, when the Bible describes that man has but one life to live and then the Judgment, that Bible is by far the most credible, believable source of that information.
We know what happens to our spirits when we die because God made sure to tell us in advance. God is not a man that He should lie, so why not believe what He says?

Many people believe that they have a good idea of the afterlife based on two major factors - psychics and hypnotists.
If you look at psychics like John Edward, Sylvia C Browne... They have been able to channel spirits to talk to loved ones and learn that there is life on the other side. If they only came up with generic info which could be applied to anybody it would each of the deceased told far ranging and different stories about how they are doing "in their "deceased" state, you could claim that the psychics are perpetrating a hoax. Since you almost always hear that the deceased is doing very well, is very happy and is not in pain from almost every psychic - there seems to be proof leaning to the fact that there is a good life after we die.
Many hypnotists have also learned about the afterlife through Past life Regression Hypnosis. If it were only one or two who had successfully brought their clients back to one or more past lives then I would not place any credibility to it. The fact that hypnotists worldwide are gleaning the same results from past life regressions tells me that there has to be some truth to it. As a side note, many clients find healing from physical or emotional pains after successfully undergoing a past life regression.
Some hypnotists have also independently gained similar information about the other side during past life regressions. It is kind of like people who describe near-death experiences (where they were actually clinically dead for a very short time before being revived. In almost ever case (world wide and crossing ethnic, religious, and cultural barriers), they describe very similar experiences. Most claim to see a brilliant, warm white light. Most claim to see loved-ones waiting for them at the light. Most claim to experience a total weightless feeling as well as the feeling of being totally enveloped in love and warmth, Many of them also describe hearing the most beautiful music imaginable. It is also quite common for these people to go through days, weeks or even months of depression after they are revived because they got a taste of the perfection yet to come.
Many people, myself included, actually believe that Home is on the Other Side and we are here in negativity school or negativity boot camp to improve our spirituality.
I hope that sheds some light on your question.

i know pretty much exactly what will happen to me after i die, depending on how i die
in most case's my family will mourn my death, place me in a coffin, and lower me into the ground, where over time bacteria and insects may break into the coffin, and decompose my body. After a time the only thing left will be my flesh stripped bones.
as per my consciousness, well that disappeared the moment i died, just like a computer in a way, before that i was processing information, then my brain went into off mode. never to be switched back on again
as for people who 'came back from the dead' and told the rest of us what happened, they were hallucinating, plain and simple

It is impossible to know whether anything exists beyond our lives... As far as we know, there is Nothing.
Christians have made many claims about this. Unfortunately none of the claims christians make are examinable, and being so, there is no possible way the claim-maker could have had solid ground to base it on.

Yes seems like your idea is right death is the end of existance the Bible says that the dead are not conscious of anythingat all (Ecclesiastes9:5) So although there are many theories about death, only the Bible tells us what really happens !

People are frustrated when they do not understand, or they do not know. People are only afraid of death because there might be nothing after it, but if this is the case, then they won't know. It frightens me more to watch people around me die, like friends or relatives.

I do not insist I know what happens after death ... I do insist others do not know what happens after death either (because they don't).
However, based on man's current understanding of the body and of nature around us, I feel there is reasonable evidence to suggest (not prove) there is no afterlife.

Because people like to believe they are right, they think that they have all the answers to life. Life is a mystery and one of its greatest is what happens when we die. even someones NDE is someones own personal NDE, i mean why should i take someone elses word for what the afterlife might be like. they could be lying about it. people whould love to believe they have all the ansewers to life, be it Atheist or Christian or Muslim they want to believe they are not living a lie even if they are

Great question! Religion is a curious thing. I have no idea what happens when we die. I have a feeling though that we do not cease to exist. Just a feeling.

They know what happens when they died in line with their religion.Yes in Islamic teaching we know from our holy book Al Qur'an and Hadith as our guide of life that after our death we will be burried and our spirit (roh) will be given back by our God into our bodies in the waiting place. We will be asked someting in our life. such as what is your religion, who is your prophet etc.We would have a rewards or punishments in the waiting place before resurrection.
