after a stroke what is medical terminology for not being able to speak?

My friend recently had a stroke and has paralysis on one side of his body. His is now in rebabilitation facility. I am able to understand some of his words. Has anyone had this experience or had a loved one who has gone through this? With therapy, what are his chances of complete recovery? He is very special to me. Thanks

Without knowing more details on his stroke and how much of his brain was involved, I really can't tell you to omuch about his chances of a complete recovery. I suggest you ask his doctor or a family memver what the doctor says about his prognosis. That being said though, treatment of strokes has come a long way and many make complete or near complete recovery. Best of luck to your friend!
