Political Correctness often stops us from saying what most of us our now thinking, that is, the strong relationship there appears to be, between Islam or the Quran and violence committed in its name.

Dont get confused, I am not discussing whether any other countless conflicts involving Muslims are "right" or "wrong". Surely, every combatent in a war always have their reason to believe they are right. So, if any Muslims reply, dont bother trying to justify any single war Muslims are fighting in the world.

This question deals with the relationship between Islam and violence. I mean, can "radical islam" every really die so long as Islam lives? I dont see how. The phrase "radical islam" has no place in Islam...its a western tag phrase. Most Muslims dont see "radicals" per se, only other Muslims with different sects.

So, typically Sunnis apologize for the acts of all Sunni Terrorists and Shia for theres. They will condemn "terror" but not condemn any "terrorist".

steve the real problem here is not just about islam,Anger and violence runs through all of society.
The root of insanity is anger, the root of anger is fear, the root of fear is the absence of God. Prove this to yourself, when suddenly confronted with danger we experience fear, then fear gives way to anger. When anyone has a loving relationship with God anger, fear, revenge is replaced with UNCONDITIONAL LOVE,if you have not experienced this UNCONDITIONAL LOVE you can buy it only from GOD,ALLAH,JEHOVAH or many other names, YOU will have to figure out the price you will have to PAY. I PRAY THAT ALL THOSE CHILDREN OF GOD INSANE WITH ANGER MAY FIND THE UNCONDITIONAL LOVE OF GOD THAT I HAVE FOUND. WHISTLE BRITCHES

Muslims believe in the Quran and have strong belief in it because The Noble Quran teaches many things that are true with no error. It can be truly said it is God's word (no doubt). Muslims who incite terrorism is often misinterpreted in many Western Programs. Most of the time you see Muslims incite into fighting and wage of war because they are defending there rights to live. I don't see any other Muslim country waging for a War for Global Domination. IF you don't believe me, name me one country. For ex., Muslims in Palestine, Chechnya, Kurdistan are not calling a Holy War for nothing. Muslims in those areas were always mistreated by there enemy as "terrorists". If Israel is a true democratic country, then how come Israel been bombing Gaza and the West Bank with no permission or good reason too. The poor maj. watch every day as Israelis go bombarding there land, raiding it. And if you are in such a situation, what would you do. FIGHT for your RIGHT. Thats what the Yankees done and eventually found this country due to mistreatment. You must understand that without Islam in this world, there would have been no algebra, vital maps, banking, checking, farming methods, investment and many more technoligical advancements. When the Muslims controlled the Middle East, there were no problems. Jews, Muslims, Christians, and Parsis lived in peace. However, after Muslim rule fell, then the problem began. With the practice the Europeans do to their captives is total hostility. Every country that fell under European rule was mistreated and classed and called names. If Europe was Christendom and following the teachings of Jesus (PBUH), then it would have been doing very peaceful things with their fellow humans. However, they lost the contact and belief of God and his true teachings and now are the lost and gone astray. Islam is a beautiful religion and teachings everything and is a guide to life. If there are problems particularly with war, business, marriage, love, etc. we go to the Noble Quran. The Bible doesn't have the info or the capability to be used as a reference like the Noble Quran. With all due respect, I am not inciting violence. But if it offends you, I am sorry I am telling the fact. I understand how you feel after reading this. Peace, Brother

Yes it is Islam itself that is the problem for some. Islam is the solution to all evil and all evil is at odds with it. They use propoganda to try to distort its image and impart misgivings. "Radical Islam" is is no Islam. Islam is Islam and no change is acceptable. On the other hand "Radical Islam" is something distorting the image of Islam that is playing in the hands of its enemies.

There are three things you must consider very carefully.

First that all nations and all countries use force and power to protact their rights. Without it others simply just sollow them. This is the way the world is. Islam, as for all other aspects of life, also teaches its followers in this regard. So don't use or get confused by isloated refrences in this regard as violence.

Second Muslims were a dominant culture for a very long time (when they actually practiced what they believed) and why don't you try comparing their relations with weaker countries in that time. Sure they conqured land but the blood shed and brutality was nowhere near what is happening today. And whatever muslims conqured they made it part of their own and developed it not just colonize it, a fine example would be spain. Also you will not hear of "War Crimes" in these compaigns. For refrence just compare the events surrounding the cursaders capturing jerusalum with the events surrounding Muslims recapturing it. And yet you accuse Islam of Violence? and this is just only one example

Third according to Islam, Killing of women, children, elderly and unarmed civilians is absolutly unacceptable. As is humiliating the conquered, destroying property or religious buildings. And much much more. What is happening here has more to do with the concept of "Revenge" than Islam.

Also it would serve you better to try to research things out yourself. It would be better for you and will avoid any misconceptions imparted to you by some not so well learned muslim.

Radicals have existed in all major religions at some point in history and it is common for people to justify their action by claiming to have committed them in the name of God.
I think it is ridiculous to blame the religion of Islam for the existence of radical Islam because that would make the non-violent teachings in the Quran to blame for modern terrorist acts. All of Christianity is therefore just as guilty for the war and violence that occured during the Crusades and the terrible Spanish Inquisition. Your proposition also blames the Judaism for much of violence associated with the creation of Israeli state. There are many profound links between Islam, Christianity, and Judaism, both ideological and historical, so by claiming that the ideology of Islam is at fault is also condemning Christianity and Judaism to a great extent.

Where there is religion, there are radicals. Every religion has them (even Buddhism, which is one of the tamer religions), so to say that Islam itself is a problem is false. Why? Because we could also apply the same logic to Christianity, and I know for a fact that there are Christians who are not radical.

NO......as a Christian I believe the the belief system is peaceful deep down and connects and otherwise ostracized people to the God of all. Now then how thing are intrepreted by people can be messed up. But the Christians and Jews have the same problem.

Is it possible that every thing has nothing to do with religion and it is just people's views? Every religion has extremists, let's not forget that.
