A malt has malt added to milk and ice cream. A milk shake is simply milk and ice cream. As for me, it's malt all the way, although sometimes when you ask for a malt, they forget to put in the malt and give you a milkshake.

A malt is just a milk shake with malt added. You know, like the flavor of a malted milk ball candy?

A milk shake usually has ice cream and milk in it. A malt is a milkshake with malt powder added to it which gives it a slightly robust flavor. You can purchase malt powder at most supermarkets.

Malted milk powder made from barley (you can find it in the grocery store, usually where you buy chocolate syrup, ice cream cones, etc)
