To answer the first part of your question, Jesus. To serve Him. The second part of your question is complicated. I realize this is a trick question, however, I'm going to give it a go for fun. The Old Testament said not to covet anything, however, I guess my greatest desire would to be more like Christ. Jesus said to hang all the Commandments on the two Great Commandments He gave. The first--Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, and soul. The second--To love your neighbor as yourself. Since I am freed from the law of the Old Testament through His blood, I would have to say I covet Jesus' character the most. We are only human, right?

I believe we were created to worship God, and that is why we exist. I think my biggest problem coveting is wanting to be able to have a nicer house and vehicle, although my home is wonderful. I also do not want to work outside of the home, so I guess that I am coveting that as well. Blessings.

I try to desire nothing, but of course I am only human. The purpose of man kind in my belief is to win the game of life, survive beyond any other species. The reason for my personal existence is to help make my first belief come true, by contributing to society. Improving the quality of life for man kind.

There is no personal reason for existrence due to the fact that I didn't create myself. What do I covet? Fired shrimp, filet mignon, 1968 buick riviera.

The reason for my existance is not about myself, its all about God. The purpose of my life is far greater than my own personal fulfillment, peace of mind, or happiness. I was born by God's purpose and for His purpose.
Firstly I discovered my identity and purpose through a relationship with Jesus Christ. Go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/seeking_reality

Second,God was thinking of me long before I ever thought about Him. His purpose for my life predates my conception. He planned it before I existed, without my input. I might choose my career, my spouse, hobbies, and many other parts of my life, but I don't get to choose my purpose.
Third, the purpose of my life fits into a much larger, cosmic purpose that God has designed for eternity.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.
