specifically interested in UCLA-so, if you have had dental work done there could you please give me feedback on how safe you felt with having a student work on you and how long it took and whether you were satisfied and had an over-all positive experience or not. Of course, going to a skilled dentist is ideal, but the costs are too high and are much lower at the school and I'd like some feedback-weighing the pros and cons. Thanks

You can generally count on getting decent work at a dental school, but be aware that one school is probably not hugely different than another. You WILL be treated by students and their abilities vary greatly. You might want to see if you can get a senior student instead of one who has never worked on live people before. I had some classmates that I really respected and others who I wouldn't trust with my dog.

I have been told that UCLA dental school is one of the best (so is USC). I don't have any affiliation with either one of these schools so I'm just going by what others have told me. The only thing I've heard is that you have a long wait for procedures. In other words, what might take an established dentist 20 minutes to do, the student might take 30 minutes or 1 hour. The good thing is that you know the procedure is done perfectly because they have to be checked off in order to go on to the next step. That's why it takes so long.

you'll get your artwork carried out at a dental college and the artwork will be reliable. absolute self assurance about the time-honored of labor as against a private prepare dentist. the biggest difficulty to think about is how a lot a even as is worth. you may pay 25-50% of the costs of a private prepare dentist, yet anticipate to bypass by ability of this methodology for a lengthy time period at a college. there is no coming in, getting a cleansing and getting 3 fillings carried out in 2 complete appointments. i could anticipate that to heavily take 6-7 appointments of three hours each. I had a affected man or woman in college that I did a cleansing, 4 fillings, 3 crowns and a pair of partial dentures. Took me about 2 years and 25 3-hour appointments to get it carried out. She changed into retired so time wasn't an difficulty. you also won't be able to call 5 minutes till now and cancel. do this a pair of circumstances and also you'd be released from the faculty. those scholars matter upon you neing there as they have criteria to finish and in easy words a million affected man or woman for a three hour appointment, desire this enables and strong success!
