Is that why they sneak over here and say that this is their land? Because their ancestors got whipped so bad?

Illegal aliens have no logical argument for breaking the law. They know they're criminals. The only way that they can talk about the subject is to divert attention away from this fact. They use the Mex/American war, racism, poverty etc. as justifications for them being here. Don't fall for any of it since a criminal is a criminal and there is no way to sugar it up.

The only reason I'm answering this question is because it might reach another mind that has a couple of intelligent cells in it. No, Mexicans aren't "still pissed off because they lost the Mex/American war." However, their history books tell the story differently than ours do. Neither version may be one hundred percent correct, and I believe that to be the case. Some young Mexicans feel strongly about the event and view this country's taking of the lands in question as robbery at gun point. Most young "Americans" react in the manner you seem to be reacting. They don't all "sneak over here" as you seem to imply. The very poorest who want more for their loved ones come here to work in order to support their families and to make life easier for them. They don't come here "Because their ancestors got whipped so bad." The come and do the dirty work which you will probably never be adult enough to stoop to do. And they responsibly support their families. What are you doing for yours?

Mainly that gambit's all about money. Basically in the sense of economics, it sucks to be Mexico. It also sucks to be Los Angeles, California, they're down for 1 billion dollars' worth of public assistance last year, which won't ever be repaid, most likely. Basically, Mexico's our 'poor cousin' to the south, and getting 'him' to stand up and fly right is going to be a big battle.

I got a cool idea, though, let's write Bill Gates and ask him to start investing in farming de-desertification in Mexico...if Mexico really got crazy with agriculture, I think you'd see a lot of people stay right where they were.

Mexico's already famous for some of it's ag exports. Why not quadruple their volume by reclaiming some desert land there?
the science is there, what's lacking is the initiative. I got this idea from another post/poster talking about mexican desert land.

Mexico's got ready access to the ocean on both sides, their benefit is that the distance across mexico is much shorter than across the United States, so pipelining water wouldn't be so hard.
So, you have the hot, hot sun, which can evaporate/desalinize water just fine by itself, and you've got 2 oceans, and some desert land that could be reclaimed through soil improvements and irrigation. And, you've got a lot of people there looking for a job. There's a fortune to be made inside their own borders, instead it's whine 2 america for more money...

As an anti-illegal, I do my best to help people recognize and accept our differences of opinion, all the while respecting their position. My question for you, is why do you constantly ask antagonizing questions so condescending to the pro amnesty side? I have a problem with trouble makers, no matter what political preference. Maybe you should spend your time looking for resolve instead of continuing in this disrespectful childish approach, just to get answers who put down those that oppose our view. Where's the honor in this?

They are pissed off because they aren't in America and rationalize any way they can to get here. Actually, history will suggest that most of Mexico belongs to America. And most Mexicans are not native but a mix of European Spanish and Mayan. Now, the Mayans have a beef . . . . . . .

They are a little late to contest the Mexican American War unless they want to continue hostilities. They say they want to work, and I am willing to take them at their word.

Yeah...I think their plan was to make us think they lost and let us as "tenants" improve the land to make it hospitable then take it back...lol

Giving more land to mexico is like giving more water to a drowning man.

We settled their land as ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS, annexed it, and then went to war over it! An unpopular one at that!!

Seems to me you guys are pissed enough about them coming here, wonder what you would think if they tried to take it back militarily?? Or if Canada decided they wanted NH and Maine!
