You're hilarious. There have been a million issues (rights) argued about by politicians. Right to use drugs, right to own property (a long time ago, blacks (and women) couldn't own property in some places), right to own slaves as property, right to vote (women and blacks couldn't vote either).
There is no similarity between the "right to own slaves" and the "right to make decisions regarding one's own body" other than the argument is about a right (and whether it should or should not be a right protected by the law).
I think a better comparison would be, if the US government decided that all men who have fathered a child must be castrated to curb overpopulation, then there would be an argument that men should be able to choose what happens to their body, and should be able to choose if that kind of operation is performed on their body or not.
Anyway, I can see the point you are trying to make, but your argument is just so absurd. Black people can learn to read, can count, can do work, can drive cars, can operate machines, can talk to other people, can do all the things that any normal person (male, female, white, yellow, red or otherwise) can do. They can live independently. A fetus can't do one single thing that a person can do. A fetus can not live independently.
Also, you are disingenuous in the way you make your point, as you ignore the mountains of arguments that pro-slavery advocates used that had nothing to do with how they viewed human life (like the #1 line of pro-slavery arguments of the time, economics). How people viewed human life was only a small part of the argument. In that respect, the PRO LIFE movement is like the PRO SLAVERY movement, playing off of people's emotions about babies and defenseless children, while entirely ignoring the actual reasons that safe and legal abortion is extremely important.

Slavery tramples on the right of actual thinking and feeling human beings.
Most abortions take place in the first trimester, when there is nothing even resembling a baby inside. Any abortion later than that likely involves a severe medical problem that will result in the death of the baby and the mother if the procedure is not applied.
The only reason for abortion to be illegal would have to be the (religiou) argument that a soul goes into the cells at conception.

What unicom said. God forgive America for mudering 43
million unborn babies since Roe vs Wade, 1973. Just as the
country was divided on slavery in the 1700's and 1800's we are
divided on the death(abortion) issue. Thankfully the pro lifers
are in the majority these days.

How did the slave owners view their white slaves? You know that 75% of the white Europeans in the colonies around 1750 were slaves. Didn't know that? Most all Europeans during that time were slaves in Europe. Didn't know that either? Do you know anything about slavery except what you ask in your question?

Stop. Just stop. You are seeing the issue as either you are pro-life or you are a murderer. Have you ever thought of the women who want abortions? They are having a tough time as it is, and when people sit outside abortion clinics and attack the patients it scares them out of their pants. Its cruel, and that is on thign that is awful about radical protesters.
Also, if you make abortions illegal, women will still get abortions. But instead, they will get illegal and dangerous ones that could cause them to be infertile or kill them. So by making them illegal, you are violating their privacy and pushing them to make a stupid mistake that could cost them their lives.
Its not that I don't think abortion is wrong, because I would never get one. But thinking about other women, I can see why they would want to get one. So I don't want to get in the way of anyone who wants to get an abortion, and I respect others bodies enough to step out of the way and let them make their own decisions.

The difference is slavery ruined lives abortion stops ruined lives from ever starting. If you don't want an abortion fine but don't make a teenage homeless girl that has been rapped suffer with a child because your imaginary friend doesn't like it. Say no to jesus

So, you believe that legally forcing a woman to have a child that she either doesn't want, can't physically / mentally / financially care for, or both as a punishment for having sex is the moral high ground here?

I agree. Even science says that life starts at conception.
6 months ago my son was stillborn. Although my wife was only 6 months along my son was PERFECTLY developed. I held my son in my arms and weep ed. He had long legs and fingers like I did and dark hair like my wives, he was beautiful. It was so hard to loose him, even though he wasn't alive he still was warm in my arms.
