Flies-Order Diptera
Robber flies eat other flies.
Flies are the tiny, poop eating, decay clean -up crew of this world.
Forenscic Scientists couldn't determine the season of the year of a homicide or a specific location without them.
Valuable pollinators of flowers.
A wide variety of birds and other wildlife depend on them as food.
Don't worry in about 2 months, they begin the mass die-off, as temps start to chill till next spring----that depends on where you live though. Have some "Shoo Fly Pie" til the. It's really tasty. No joke.

As with most life forms the purpose of flies is to make more flies.

Flies puke up their food as part of their eating process. They also defecate fly specks on whatever they are eating. Lastly they have hairy, spongy feet that carry particles of whatever they landed on. They are a perfect flying machine for distributing good (and bad) bacteria that are necessary to break down dead plant and animal matter. There is just so much carbon available on or near the surface of the earth to make new carbohydrates (including carbon lock up in CO2 taken up by plants). If all the carbon that was used by living things formed stable enduring compounds (like rocks?) there would have been none left to form your rather complex carbon intensive body. So be greatful for flies and bacteria (but keep them away from the picnic table!).

It is true that flies can spread serious diseases but they also help spread pollen, speed up the decomposition of animals, plants, and what you call s.h.i.t or dung, and they also eat other insects (which helps keep them in reasonable numbers).

Also, I'm sure you know that the larva of a fly is a maggot, which can be of great use for forensic scientists, they can also be used in cleaning necrotic wounds, and maggots are popularly used for the production of cheese and other types of food. So, next time you eat your mac and cheese, or that tasty quesadilla from your local Mexican restaurant, think about them.

Furthermore, everything you see crawling, walking, or slithering has it's purpose on this planet. Nothing is set here for decorative purposes. =)

Now really, what else would we need a flyswatter for?? How bored would we be if we didnt have to go around killing flies out of our house, workspace, etc..
Maybe the government created flies, so they could make flyswatters, big money in that.. Everyone needs them.. Or just use a newspaper... But then that creates business for newspaper, or just use rolled up paper.. or a towel.. See how the economy works..
Wow, this question has many answers.. Whew Im tired now... Good bye..

Flies aid the decomposition of food wastes. They carry the germs that helps eat away the micro organisms. Unfortunately some of these germs can influence health in a dramatic way. Flies are only attracted to people who produce sweat in abnormal quantities and even in hot weather people tend to sweat allot more. Sweat also contains micro organisms.

They are part of the food chain. If all flies suddenly went extinct all animals that prey exclusively on flies would also go extinct.

They're gross, but they're also essential.

They devour fluids and other disgusting things that we wouldn't even think about touching. They lay eggs and the maggots and flies consume carcasses. Maggots are also useful in treating several bacteria-type infections of the skin.
