You did not mention the age of your daughter... personally I like that they have a bit more strength and character than the 'barbie' model we are so used to... (and she has some seriously short outfits/bikinis etc) There are bratz that wear jeans and are more covered up. I think the problem arises if your daughter is trying to emulate the 'bratz'. You need to be able to set boundaries, and decide for yourself what age you feel happy with her wearing makeup etc. The 'Bratz' are a small part of a global issue, where women are sexualised.. there is no way to avoid your daughter being bombarded with this image.. it is everywhere, esp commericals. The Bratz are not there to be the role model.. that is what you are for. Set a good example and make it your duty to guide her through this world.... and realise that at the same time, you can not completely protect her from it.. she will need to learn to protect herself.

They are just dolls. Your daughter is more likely to see you as a role model than a stupid doll!
Did you have Barbies as a kid? What kind of role model were they? They had the equivalent of a 21inch waist, a 40DDD bust and a 45 inch inseam! Come on, who can live up to Barbie without major plastic surgery?! Let's not even start on the sexist roles barbie played. You could get a nurse's or a flight attendant's uniform but you never got Brain Surgeon Barbie or Pilot Barbie. Why's that?

Some of the dolls look like "Painted ladies" but my daughter loves them, she hates barbie. So my husband and I look for the ones with the lighter makeup for her. We've actually been pretty successful in finding quite a few.
My daughter likes to make sure they have bras and panties on as well and that they are decently covered. She's only 6, so I give her credit for knowing what should be considered conservative.

Bratz dolls do not make good role models. They look like ho's out of the street looking to perform some tricks.

Bratz are a little more volumptous then barbie. Having recently been to ToysRUS barbie isn't looking very respectable either. I have two nieces and they are crazy about Bratz and prefer them to barbie or any other doll. I think theyre just attracted to the make-up and glitter. Nothing to be to concered about.

Bratz are something else aren't they? The makers of them did push the limit but they are accpeted in our society and has made a lot of money. Barbie now has some rather sluty clothes herself doesn't she LOL

in a way they do look sluty, but really have you seen some of the clothes they have out for little girls? i work in retail and i have seem some clothes that look like they should be worn by adults not kids. the dolls are fine, just that if your little girl wants to dress like them just explain that little girls don't wear those things and don't be afraid of the temper tantrum's that she might throw she will get over it.

No I don't think they look slutty. My girls Love them and I like they have big feet.. It shows them we can't all be perfect. Beautiful lips but big ugly feet... They love to change their clothes and hats.. Their clothes are very similar to what our teenage fad is wearing.. It shows a bit too much, but hey you can take care of hidding it with layers.. I like them more than barbies... If you are looking for a role model, talk to them and they will learn between right or wrong (Most of the time they know the difference but still choose to do the wrong).. Good Luck
