God knew it was coming and he let it happen for a certain reason. It was so that ppl would turn to Him in the darkness of sin and Satan. Mankind is supposed to be imperfect and we are supposed to turn to Him. Simple as that.

How about this- being that we don't know exactly what the "fruit" was or the tree for that matter- it is quite possible that it was essential for the maintaining of life in the garden.
I have a stove in my house- I know that if my child touches it she could get burnt, I know that if she plays with it and does something inappropriate with the stove, the whole house could be lost to a fire. Should I get rid of my stove?? No, it is essential for operating my household. I will teach my daughter not to touch the stove- she has freew will and a mind of her own- it is quite possible and probable that she will touch the stove anyway- unfortunately painful consequences follow- I still love her and take care of her but the consequences are what they are and must be dealt with. If she burns herself, am I the one that is cruel? Is it my fault? is it the stoves fault? No , if I did my job properly, and taught her what she needed to know and she made a poor choice anyway, then she is fully accountable for her actions PERIOD. Why don't we stop trying to put the blame on God and take responsibility for our own actions and disobedience.
And yes, if I put a plate of cookies out and told my kids don't touch them, I would expect them NOT to touch them- if they do, their disobedience and lack of self control is not my fault, they are fully accountable for their poor choice.

God didnt set us up for anything. We are putitng ourselves in failure. Because the only goal for human life is to cultivate our loving relationship with the All Attractive, Almighty, Caring and Loving Supreme Being. If you havent noticed society only wants mundane material sensual pleasure. They think God should provide them for something that will come back even worse. If you havent noticed our senses our never satisfied. They're like an "itch" that never goes away. We should only try to turn socitey around by giving them God. Its the only REAL happiness we will ever find in this mundane material world, which is not our real home."Gopala Govinda Rama Madana Mohana"

You really have me laughing...but its not as simplistic as you put it. Who told you it was about a tree with fruit? (hah ha ha). God created the devil and he created man...tell you what, he gave both the devil and man free will. OUCH!! I know you dont like hearing that part about free will, but imagine what life would be without it. What if God had made "robots" (us without free will) what would be his purpose? would we need to worship him? would our worship be true?....certainly not because remember without free will its a "make me do it" kinda stuff.
This is the way life is....I cant see it any different....no free will means NO GOD. Its like "making someone love you" through hypnosis...is that true love.?
You train your guard dog because somewhere in your head you KNOW that your house may be attacked or burgularised, OK Now when your guard dog faces the burglar do you step in front after giving the dog all the physical and mental capacity to deal with the burglar? If so why train the darn dog then? The guard dog has to be tested and you must trust him.
the example is a little abstract but I am trying to get this free will thing in your head. God knowing does not remove your free will. Its not a case of God knowing that Adam and Eve would have let him down.....Its a case of God knowing that they would be tempted, thus he warned them.

Some have not failed. Some have turned to God and freely love Him. God gave us a choice to love and serve him or not, my sons have that choice as well and they love me. Not all kids love and obey their parents, some turn around and straighten up and some never do. Gods people are much the same, but it is their choice to follow satan's temptations or turn to God, and God does forgive mistakes. So, if you mess up and ate one cookie it is not to late to turn away from the cookies! Even those who eat the whole plate of cookies can turn to God and be forgiven through the gift of Christ. He paid for our sins, one cookie sin, and whole plate of cookies sins!

God did not set the human race up for failure - he gave us the benefit of a choice - and Adam/Eve chose to sin - (eat the forbidden fruit) - he did not just set this fruit in front of them - he put it aside and they had everything they could ask for to eat and drink - freedom of choice - we all have that!@

The way I see it is that this entire 6,000 years of history is God allowing humans to show ourselves what we are capable of doing and becoming.....What have we learned so far?
That most humans love religion, and they are capable of being quite violent. In fact, religion and violence seem to go hand-in-hand very well. Even a so-called loving Christian will shred you with the tongue (a sword) in a heartbeat.
Maybe God wants to purge the planet of religion once and for all and the best way to do it is to bring things to this point that we can all definitely see that we have made a mess and that religion will never bring peace on earth.

It is not over yet so humanity has not failed. Taken a few punches. even been knocked down but the final bell has not rung yet so there is still time for humanith to succeed.
BTW God makes the rules and is the judge and God wants humanity to win so humanity is a shoe in. Don't bet against us. The battle is fixed.

Run as fast as you can to the foot of the Cross, get yourself washed in the Blood of Jesus. Then and only then will you be able to understand the Word of God. Until then you can beat you head against a wall. People can explain all they want to, but you will still not understand. God's Word says: There is no so blind as he who Will Not see.

Gee...I don't think I'm the only one on this planet who knows he's not a miserable failure. There's probably many successful people around who enjoy life and give thanks to God for all the wonderful things He's done.
I use my free will to choose things that make me happy.
I HOPE I'm not alone. (Sorry you're so miserable.)
