Oscar Wilde said that if prayers were answered they would stop being prayers and would become correspondence. That doesn't stop people from praying nor some prayers being answered. For myself I always have gratitude and appreciation in my heart in prayer and when I'm not praying.

If you havent noticed people only pray for some mundane object or desire. They think God will be there to give them everything materialistic thing they ask. Rather we should ask Him to help us cultivate our love for Him which will bring us the ultimate happiness."Gopala Govinda Rama Madana Mohana"
