It depends on if you trust her or not. But, you are going to have to give her her freedom sooner or later.

Well I don't have a 16 year old my son is only 3 but when I was 16 my mom let me drive alone. Se taught me to drive so I guess she trusted me. If my son's maturity level is similar to how mines was I will allow him to do the same (As long as my husband agrees with me LOL) My mom always said she allowed me to do all things according to how much she could trust me not by how old I was. That was her way of making sure things were fare not but saying you do this at 12 and this at 15 etc.

Yes. But we live in a rural area with little traffic. She's beginning to drive more in and around the city more, now, though.
They're just as safe as you are if you teach them to drive right. She can drive, she even drives standard shift. She keeps a cell phone in the car to call in case there is a problem.
Just ease them into the driving process slowly. They'll be fine.

Yes, I'm a mother too I know how you feel, just try not to be too protective you may loose her. You should let her drive alone. She will learn to be more independent, and she will like you. You will win

That depends on how responsible she is. In reality she is going to do behind your back it if you lay down the law. I would encourage her to have someone with her and keep an eye on her. If she is found to be abusing the privledge, then maybe the keys should be taken away for a while.

Yea why not she has to learn sometime plus it best if you just let her go cause most parents just put pressure on the kid then they would when there alone its no biggie its just a way of letting them grow up.

I don't know about you but I drove at 16, that is what the liscense is for. Limit her access to the road and vehicle if it is your car. Set a curfew and some rules if it is hers. They all have to grow up

It really all depends on how responsible she is. If she is then a small trip to the store for you and such is a good way to test her ablilty to handle the car and your trust. If she isnt then no.

I would as long as I know where she is going, when she'll be back, and who she will be with. I would expect her to be smart and safe. If I had any doubt I or another adult would be in the passanger's seat.
