The Master seemed delighted as he started instructing Chester. "In the Bhagavad-Gita, we learn that Krishna created everything and sustains all things by his glory. Chapter 9 teaches that the entire material universe is created, prevaded, maintained and sustained by him. In Chapter 10 we learn that he is the source of everthing and that all existence is because of Lord Krishna. '... I am the seed of all creatures; nothing animate or inanimate could exist without me.'

In John 1 of the Christian New Testament we are taught that 'In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.... And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth .... grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.'

We also learn in the Bhagavad-Gita that total devotion to Krishna will allow man to achieve eternal life and never know death again.

In the New Testament we learn that Christ is the the only way. '...that whosoever believeth in Christ should not perish, but have everlasting life.'

What does your logic tell you about this paradox?" The Master waited.

Chester licked his lips. "Here are two different religions revealing to us the creator of all things who, is also the way to achieve eternal life. Either one is a fraud or both are the same holy manifestation recorded at different times from two different cultural and historical viewpoints. The logic is clear and simple."

The Master announced, "The Krishna of Ancient Hinduism is the Christ of Christianity. Christ comes from the Greek word Christos, and Christos is the Greek version of the word Krishna. When an Indian person calls on Krishna, he often says "Krista." Krishna is a Sanskrit word meaning the object of attraction." So when we address God as "Christ," "Krista," or "Krishna," we indicate the same all-attractive Supreme Personality of Godhead. When Jesus said, "Our father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name," that name of God was Krista or Krishna. "Christ" is simply another way of saying "Krista," and "Krista" is another way of pronouncing Krishna."

intel_knight, I don't think the subject matter is as boring as you claim. But I do think you are using that claim as a context to put down the idea.

mike g, the Hindus believe in only one God, however they also believe that God had many manifestations. You say three. They say untold billions.

GoldenTruthT..., I feel like I'm watching televangelism. I encourage you not to let your emotions, especially your fear, control you. There are many thing you do not understand yet. Please keep an open mind and your, as well as others, sufferings will lessen. I used to be a big time fundamentalism, a pharisee or pharisees if you will. I went through many a long suffering to see through some of the illusions I was taught to believed in. I believe in time you will too see past your own. We are have our own paths and timetables to come to certain understandings. I just hope my words will be a positive influence break you free of indoctrination. It is truly a jail of types. One that often causes embaressment once we can finally do break free. However there is no need for embarassment as it is more about who you are now and the journey you are on than it is about any past of future you.

I agree that "both are the same holy manifestation recorded at different times from two different cultural and historical viewpoints".

It is not just Christ and Krishna either. The one God has manifested at various times in various countries. This is why we have so many religions - different routes to the same destination.

Though Christianity ultimately borrows from a lot of Sumerian and Egyptian religion, I'm not so sure that the etymology of the word "Christ" means that Jesus and Krishna were the same, especially when we can find "Kristos" or "Annointed" referring to Cyrus in the Old Testament (Septuagint).

The whole hullabaloo about Jesus being the "Christ" was a misinterpretation of the Old Testament, but he was being confused with Cyrus, not Krishna.

That's not to say that much of the rest of the Jesus myth didn't have earlier pagan origins (including Mithra and Osiris and Gimgamesh and maybe even Krishna, though I mention the nearer myths first). Of course the Jesus resurrection myth was just a retelling of some of the older pagan myths.

Sorry no. Many belief systems help people relate to God based on cultural or experiences and have similarities but to cross reference anything except the divinity of a single God is in error.

Good try at unifying people of differing beliefs though.

Interesting hypothesis. But as Christ means "god's annointed" and Krishna originated in mythology way before the concept of Christ, I doubt the accuracy of the linguistic explanation. Have you checked out out?

That doesn't mean your premise is wrong -- in fact it's fun to think of it as right and see where it goes -- but the reasoning needs to be checked out as with any such line of thinking.

Oh Baby! Jesus is the Son of the One True God!-Creator. All the other religions have a veil of confusion over them from the devil. All the fallen angels were kicked out of heaven with Lucifer (or as I say "Loser".) These demons sought every kind of abomination against God. Including causing man kind to worship THEM instead. This created demi-"gods" for false worship. SIMPLY all you have to do is ask Jesus Christ into your heart and keep praying for the Holy Spirit to come and bless you with true knowledge. Yes, this is all real! wake-up your are not dreaming my friend! :^) Call on the name of Jesus! The devil hates that! It says in the Bible, "rebuke him (the devil) and he will flee from you" do it in Jesus's name. Satan is a liar and destroyer that is what his name means! He also is a great impersonator and confuser. THE devil COPIES THE GREAT RELIGION TO CONFUSE GOOD PEOPLE LIKE YOU INTO FALSE RELIGION
only to make himself happy because he knows he is going to hell. Keep praying for the truth in Jesus's name! DO YOU REALLY WANT THE TRUTH! THERE IS BY NO OTHER NAME THAT YOU SHALL BE SAVED BUT JESUS CHRIST! WHAT IS SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND? GOD SAYS NO IDLES AND HINDUS PAY HOMAGE TO IDOLS WITH INCENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
