When I go to work on a Friday of a long weekend, the traffic is very light, but going home it is even heavier than a normal weekday. If less people are going to work in the morning, why is the traffic so heavy on the way home?

With the answers I've read, I really don't think so. If I was retired, or had the day off, why would anyone wait until 'rush hour' to go to the cottage, or any other destination. It doesn't make sense. If that is the case, then people who are off on Friday, are totally ******.

If most people take Friday off, why do they commute during afternoon rush hour? It just doesn't make sense.

All the answers that have been given, it still doesn't make sense. Like the answer that said most people only work half a day on Fridays, so when they leave it is rush hour. But how did they get to work in the morning? If they only work half a day, they still drove to work in the morning, or did they fly? The only person left I can think of how may be able to give a correct answer, would be O.P.P. Officer Cam Wooley. How about it Officer Wooley?
