You'll be fine. I just started flying 6 years ago and I was nervous too, but it didn't take me long to relax. Take offs are kind of fun. I had looked up something a few months ago and there was a thing that showed that you are more likely to have a car wreck.So its a very very slim chance. once u get use to flying u'll like to (u usually get free beverage on the flight).
Just a word of advice: make sure u do not wear any metal on u when u go through the metal detector. i forgot to take my belt off sometime last month and i got beeped. Oops.
