Language whilst very useful has many drawbacks.
Its non-innate, non-exact, non-universal, prone to misusage and with regards to common english it does even follow phonetic rules in its written form.
In fact one could say, that the fact that it has different forms its a drawback.
---- surely there is a more effect system/method of communitcating in the everyday world that has less drawbacks whilst being more effecient. Prehaps by using more of our senses to transfer information.

I agree, to phrase something in a given language puts such limitations that the information you try to transfer has to be changed. And on the receiver end similarly distorted again.

How much it is changed it depends on many things: e.g. expertise in the language, intelligence of recipients, and the language itself. Several languages are more developed to explain given topics than others. Some things are even not possible to translate. (I also think that the way of thinking is slightly determined by the mother langauge one speaks.) So there is still place to improve on this line.

But what would be better? To answer this, I think we should first find out what we consider 'better'?

Music for example is a wonderful language to express a lot of things, but it might be difficult to put jurisdictions into symphonies...

Many things (e.g. assembly instructions) are easy to explain by drawings, but drawing is time consuming, so you would not like its effectivity :-).

Unfortunately telepathy is not a scientific category, but playing with the idea, if it was possible to transfer ideas without distortion, humanity would probably become an emerged super intelligence, gaining a step ahead the so feared (and never yet proven) artifical intelligence. But would it be good? Probably most of the fun (which causes also a lot of suffering in this world) coming from the individual ways of thinking would disappear. So from todays perspective, it would became a bit safer and boring world. But obviously then there would be something else in it, which humanity would enjoy/suffer.

Though, I would not mind sometimes to see at least a little bit, what goes on in ladies' mind...:-)

An interesting intermediate step would be a cyborg style communication. In these days serious experiments going on to understand ideas from brain's electrical activities. (research are at cradle phase, but still scary)
If we couple this with an active unit on the other end of the channel (we don't even have to understand the content, just transfer it), you could get an improved, more direct communication, which might skip the language. (But would still probably need a common platform, as brain 'images' are again individual patterns. This would possibly mean less or different limitations than language has.)
Until then:
'All the best'-simply with these old fashioned but well verified words. Hope you understand :-).

I do believe that the Borg have come up with a better method of communication...

Seriously though, communicating goes beyond just language. Body language and facial expressions, combined with language and the manner in which that language is spoken really give a method of communication capable of very great subtlety in meaning.

Hi,

I have discovered how to write a while ago and I belive this is the best way for communication as writen word usually don't leave much space for personnal interpretation by others.

In facts, since he don't like me and think I'm an idiot, this is now the only way I use when I need to speak to my boss. This avoid lots of interpersonnal conflicts, avoid me being harrassed by him and protects me against him making complain about me to higher autorites because of "language gap" and "misunderstanding".
