We recently rescued a kitten from our local shelter, upon getting her I took her to the vet infested with fleas and I assumed she also had worms. She got a tablet for the fleas and also frontline. Also got a broard spectrum wormer that was supossed to take care of any kind of worms. (can't remember name of it ) She received the wormer over three days. Since Day 2 she has been passing live worms. Today is day 5 shouldn't they be gone by now? I am still finding live worms? Does she need to be given another dose or am I just impatient? How long until she is worm free?

That is ridiculous! Live worms after 5 days?? Next time, demand Revolution...I'll never use anything else on my cats. In one dose it take care of worms (most kinds), fleas, ticks, etc, and only costs $12.95 per dose. My kitties had roundworms and it killed them all the same day, the next day they started gaining weight. Unless this is just how the wormer your cat recieved is supposed to work, it sounds to me like it's NOT working at all.

i use Drontal from the vets. Works very fast. I gave my cats the tablets in the afternnon. By evening there was no sign of the worms. Over the counter shop dewormers dont work. I used several different types and they only worked for a few days then there was signs of worms again. My vet said to me that some dewormers can actually harm your pet. So make sure you get it from the vet

If they are little rice sized white worms, they are tapeworm segments and may not be killed by some of the dewormers used. Describe them to your vet as she might need something additional. Long white worms that look like spaghetti are roundworms commonly seen in puppies and kittens. It could take a few days to pass them all as the die off.

I thought when I read your question that you would try another dose of something OTC to speed things up!

Glad kitten is under the care and monitoring of the vet. Call and ask on Monday.
