If no-one is hurt it seems a bit OTT to call 999.

If there is no injury, you should call them on their nonemergency line which is generally listed on the front page of your phone book. You should look this up before you get into an accident, and put it on your speed dial. The number will be specific to you or locality.

If it is a minor accident and you don't think the person driving the other car is drunk (cos u certainly wouldn't be lol) then just exchange insurance details and make sure u take a note of the licence plate. If it is slightly more serious, then 999 is fine cos lets face it no-one carries a note of the local police station phone number!

08453 30 20 10 is the switchboard number for the police.
your not supposed to call if no one is hurt but I've been hit twice by drivers with no insurance and they got away with it.\

i wouldn't hesitate to call them if ever i had another bump.

i work in our local magistrates court and we have plenty of people in for driving offences that have been picked up by people reporting accidents, so go ahead and ring them x

If it's just minor, no injuries, the other party involved not suspected of drink driving, then why bother? Just exchange details, go home ring your insurance company, fill in the form.
