Bats are virtually blind and use RADAR (Radio Detection and Ranging). Which was also known as RDF (Radio Direction Finding).

Different species of bat use RADAR pulses at different frequencies, which allow the identification of the bats as well as avoiding any mid-air mishaps.

BATS ARE NOT BLIND!!! Most of the people that answered have NO CLUE what they are talking about. Bats can see, although their night vision is not that great. They use echolocation to find prey...it is not called radar!

Some are blind. Some are not. Some can see better than others in the daytime. Depends on the species.

Bats see about as well in the dark as we do, but they use echo location to find their food more easily.

Yea, they're virtually blind. They don't need visual-sight as they have a third sight; radar.
