I am not trying to offend anyone with this question. I have read many comments from people saying that since they are Christian and believe in God, they are going to Heaven.

I am a Christian, but I feel I am not perfect and that I am a sinner. I don't do anything crazy against the Bible. I am a pretty passive person who tries not to do harm to anyone, but I still feel that I sin and that there are certain things I do that can anger God.

So I feel in between from Heaven and Hell, I don't feel I have the ticket to go straight to Heaven and that God in the end is going to determine where I am going. I also have learned that he keeps record of all the sins we have done in a "book", to then interrogate us up there. LOL I don't know where I learned that.

I feel we aren't perfect and that we aren't better than anyone and that God judges all of the same, including non-believers.

What is your opinion?

Gluon I think you are mistaking Greek mythology with Christianity. Hell with the Underworld of Hades.

If you are a sinner then you are invited to heaven, but you don't yet have your ticket, so to speak. If you truly understand that you are a sinner who is under judgment by God for your sins, and you realize there is nothing that you can do to change that, then you are ready to accept the free gift of salvation that God offers you. We were all born into this world as sinners and we have all sinned. It is these sins which God cannot stand and for which He has sentenced us to death in hell. Yet He loves us, so since His holy nature will not allow Him to just forgive and forget, He sent His Son Jesus to earth to die in our place. Jesus was dead, but then He arose and is now in heaven. All we have to do is believe and ask Him to forgive us. As you said, all you have to do is RSVP the invitation to heaven. Ask Him to forgive you and come into your heart and you will cross over from death to life. My point is you can know for sure. God says anyone who believes and accepts Christ as their savior will be saved. It is your choice.

God loves you, and He wants you with Him for eternity, but it is your choice. I hope to see you in heaven too.

If you are a born again believer and have a relationship with Jesus Christ you shall go to heaven. No one is perfect, we all sin but because of Jesus' sacrifice we can repent of our sins and be forgiven. If you a believer God does not keep a record of your sins. You will not be judged for your sins. He has forgiven you if you have asked for forgiveness and your sins are forgotten, never to be remembered again. I don't know where you learned about your sins being held against you. Probably on Yahoo Answers. All you will be interrogated about, as you call it, is when Jesus ask you what you did to glorify His Kingdom while on earth. God will not judge all people the same, non-believers are what hell was made for. That is the unforgivable sin, to reject Jesus Christ. This is not my opinion, it comes from years of Bible study. You should know without a doubt that you are saved and will go to heaven. If you have any doubts, pray and talk to a minister soon.

Heaven and Hell are imaginary, just like the Bible is just a man-made play script, with several actors God, Devil, Jesus, Satan, Adam, Eve etc.

I certainly don’t believe in the Bible and I doubt any reasonably intelligent person would either. However, if you view the Bible as a man-made play script, with several actors God, Devil, Jesus, Satan, Adam, Eve, Noah, and so on, then you can certainly start to see a clever interwoven plot, that the audience is unaware of. It’s really just a drama thriller with clever twists.

You see, if you seriously think about it in an unbiased manner, then clearly the actor God in the Bible could really be the Devil, and the audience (religious believers) are being sucked into being the bad guys, who then use religion to get everyone fighting each other.

On the other hand, the more intelligent audience (Atheists) spot the plot and try their best to teach believers that this is just nonsense, stop getting sucked in.

Here’s some excellent proof that God does not exist.

I don’t think there is much doubt today that all religions are just mystical cults with their clever magic tricks conjured up to awe inspire their believers and followers. Take the Christian mythological cult for example. God is supposed to have created the universe, incarnated (magic trick) himself as Jesus and written the Bible.

But today God is totally silent. The only thing we hear about God comes from people speaking on his behalf, namely cult leaders and followers, most of whom are lunatics and war mongers. If God genuinely existed, he would silence these people because they are an absolute embarrassment. Just check out some religious idiots who post on YA.

When you listen to these idiots trying to justify God’s love and existence, it takes very little commonsense to realise how imaginary God is. If God were real, he would speak for himself. The fact that God does not speak, and that he allows any lunatic who comes along to speak in his name, proves that God is imaginary, and everything else in the Bible is imaginary including Heaven and Hell.

I am agnostic, so I don't know what is out there or not. I know that the concept of Hell is misinterpreted by the Christians of today. Hell just means the grave, not fire and brim stone. everyone goes to hell when they die. No where in the Bible does it say that you will go to heaven right after you die. It says you will go to hell, then you will be resurrected on the day of judgment. Why do so many Christians get that part wrong? Maybe you should read the Bible the whole way through.

We are all sinners! The Bible tells us we all fall short and none are worthy of the glory of God! That is why we all need Christ.
Jesus was a blood sacrifice for all sinners. If we accept Christ as savior, and accept that he paid our debt on the cross, we are seen without sin in Gods eyes, because the blood of Jesus covers our sin! Praise God! Now try and live right, but when you mess up you are forgiven! To be Christian does not mean you are perfect, just forgiven! Why doesn't everyone want that free gift of eternal life in heaven? Please be assured heaven is there for you and you do not have to earn it, Jesus did it for you!

Well, The Bible clearly disproves the idea of going to heaven when you die or hell for that matter. Read EC. 5:9,10. We need to repent from our sins and God knows if we are truly trying to please him. He is searching through our hearts. Simply believing or going to church will not please God. We need to serve him. Make every aspect of your life something you do for God. If you are a man, taking care of your family is obeying God, or preaching the truth helping others come to an accurate knowledge of truth. Give him your time, be a God fearing person at home, at work, at school, everywhere. Meditate on his word daily and take in knowledge. We are not perfect and that is why we needed Jesus sacrifice in the first place. Leave the judging up to God and just work on you and your worship. Look for the truth.

For everything you do or don't do in life,
* Do you make an effort to be better, to help more?
* Is your 'intent' good?
* Do you follow 'the teachings & examples' of Jesus and the other Godly people in history?

Everyone's answer to these should all be "yes".
It's unproductive and vain to 'follow' Jesus or to be religiously patriotic if you don't learn the lessons of discipline, co-operation and agape' love.
And at last, remember in the book of Revelation that NO-ONE answered when an angel asked "Who is worthy to judge the people on earth?".
I've lately been meeting more & more superficial Christians.
That was a wonderfully humble question - and warms my heart.

Everyone!.... grow into spiritual maturity! Many paths (religions) for many different people; One proper destination.

your going to heaven isn't based on your feelings --- if you have accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior and you believe he died and was raised to new life -- then you are saved and like the one thief on the cross who called upon the Lord - and he replied "today you will be with me in Paradise." That man's faith saved him from eternal separation from God---
God will judge and the Redeemed will help too --- Jesus is there making intercession for us - his blood cleanses us from all unrighteousness. Our(people who are saved) sins are put in the lake of forgetfulness --- they are not recorded in a book (the sinner who hasn't repented will be judged. The names of the saved are written in the Lambs book of Life.
Get into reading the bible and learn what it really means; also work on your relationship with the Lord, have a time set aside to be with Him in prayer, praise and thanksgiving --- buy a good commentary too.... "for a lack of knowledge my people are destroyed"....join a bible study group with other Christians and attend church --- you can't develop a better understanding of God if you don't study and spend time with Him and fellowship with other Christians...
may you continue to grow in knowledge and excel in His Grace !

First off, being christian does not mean you just believe in God. It also means you believe in Jesus Christ and why He came. I believe what Jesus says is true, that He came as a payment for the sin we committed against God. We just have to take Him up on it. That is what I did.
