ITALIAN MEATBALLS

INGREDIENTS:
1 lb lean ground beef
1/2 cup Italian bread crumbs
1/3 cup water (more or less)
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 medium onion
garlic
salt
pepper
PREPARATION:
Mix all ingredients together. Don't add all of the water at one time. Mixture should be moist but not so that the meatballs fall apart.
Shape meatballs to desired size and place on a broiler pan (I wet my hands before shaping each meatball and it helps make a nice meatball.) Broil until outside is slightly brown on one side and then turn and broil the other side. When finished, add to spaghetti sauce and simmer at least 20 minutes

ORINGINAL

1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
1/2 cup fine dry bread crumbs
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
3 tablespoons warm water
1/2 teaspoon dried leaf basil
1/4 teaspoon pepper
vegetable oil

Sauce:
2 cans (14.5 ounces each) diced tomatoes
1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
1/4 cup chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons chopped parsley, or 1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon leaf oregano, crushed
.
hot cooked spaghetti or linguine

PREPARATION:
Combine ground beef with bread crumbs, eggs, Parmesan cheese, water, 1/2 teaspoon basil, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. Shape into about 3 dozen 1-inch meatballs. In a large skillet or Dutch oven, brown meatballs over low heat in a small amount of oil. Drain off excess fat. Add tomatoes, tomato paste, onion, garlic, parsley, salt, and oregano. Simmer, uncovered, over low heat for about 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally. Serve with hot cooked spaghetti or linguini.
Serves 6.

One pound of ground beef (If you use ground turkey you will have to add more breadcrumbs)
Around a cup of breadcrumbs, or more
Some chopped onion, about 1/4 cup is good
An egg

If you dont have chopped onion , you can use onion soup mix or nothing at all

You dont have to add an egg if the meat is very wet already (as in ground turkey).

Mix it all together with your hands, keep adding breadcrumbs until you can form them into balls.

Put them in a pan and fry til nice and brown. You will have to keep turning them to cook on all sides. I usually put a cover over the top so the insides cook quickly.

Start to boil the spaghetti. When the meatballs are done, add a can of spaghetti sauce and simmer until your pasta is done. Drain and voila.. A delicious dinner.

2 to 3 pounds of good ground beef, seasoned bread crumbs, 1 egg, garlic or garlic powder, grated Parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes, a small diced onion or frozen diced onions. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl thoroughly. Take a handful of the mix and roll between your hands to a ball about the size of a gold ball. Do this until the mixture is used up. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. grease a baking dish and put the meatballs in the dish and put in the oven for 45 minutes. Finish cooking in the pasta sauce and there you go
