Gokart, when Mexico was asked to pick up the tab and take custody of illegal immigrants in California jails, they didn't even show up to the discussion, and called it racist. The German Swedish and other countries represented had no problem taking jurisdiction. Go figure.

yars, I agree, and have written my congressmen, but I only have windmills to tilt at at the moment on that front. Well, windmills and the Senate Bill.

Sashie, my understanding is that the reason there is an SPP now is that there was so much opposition to the North American Union concept Bush was forced to back room attempts at a fait accomplis. This issue ballooning so late in his presidential career does not bode well for his worldshaping ideas. For some reason he hasn't brought forward his 'Social security equalization' agreement he signed with Mexico to be approved by Congress, either, and is now engaged in a lawsuit with a seniors group that is complaining that he failed to turn it over after a freedom of information act request. I agree that is the big picture, but each link in the chain can be a set back.

Thanks for the article ... read it with interest ... and my worry is, as it has been for quite a while now, that the government will never do anything except pay lip service to the illegal immigration question ... and when I say illegal immigration, I mean Mexican illegal immigration ... what they seem hellbent on achieving is this North American Union nonsense, which will provide open borders between the 3 countries ... if that is not nipped in the bud, we can kiss goodbye to the United States as we know it ...

So who's supposed to pick up the tab for all of this, when do we send the bill to Mexico for all of it? Why are americans supposed to support all these people? I thought they were coming to work, eh?

I really tip my hat to the true political defenders of America. Dar, I think you'll learn something from the last question of mine you answered.

Very good article. Thanks for sharing. I don't understand how our politcal representatives can even think about amnesty. This immigration situation is so out of hand - I wonder if it will ever be fixed.
