Oh, I read them all. I have been waiting tables for 20 years. The thing about these little booklets and papers is that they are insulting. I hate to see people doing this well-intentioned advertising for their religeous institutions only to make people cringe.

No, and I would never force my ideas on people who are showing interest themselves first. I feel it is an intrusion, it's being pushy.

I didn't know some people took such an interest in their waiters! Why is it super gross? What's it go to do with being turned on or not? It's probably most likely a mistake that any one would leave a religious pamphlet in a restaurant. It would be rather grandiose to take it as something personal.

positioned up an illustration which says "No soliciting, proselytizing, or pamphleteering on premises. coverage strictly enforced." If an worker catches an criminal, have them gently factor out the sign and clarify that the "coverage" is that anybody caught doing any of the above two times would be banned from the premises. enforce the coverage. Weigh the awareness of this intently - if this actual church has many contributors between your popular purchasers, you're extra useful off permitting them to go away the pamphlet and making specific your busboys are vigilant, quite than risking a boycott by ability of the congregation.

It may be a turn off for you possibly, however, when you use such words as "super gross," and "huge turn-off," it alsmost seems as though conviction is working or something. Instead off thinking only of one's self, you and the staff should think of others. Some might find solice in the fact that another might find comfort from such material. I don't leave materials though, I believe in more of a "lead by example" type thing. Or concentrating on the individual on a more conversational level.

It's one thing to preach to those who want to listen, but it's a little silly to think that a bumper sticker or a pamphlet is going to convert somebody who never asked for your input.
The reason the waitstaff laugh is not religious intolerance, but the silliness of the premise that we'll suddenly see the pamphlet and realize "My goodness, I've been living a lie! Here I thought of myself as a Lutheran, but now I realize that Presbyterians are the One True Faith!"

I've left pamphlets. I've even written one, thanking the staff for doing a good job. What's "super gross" about that?
Perhaps where you are, the staff laughs at people who leave pamphlets; I've had restaurant staff leave ME pamphlets before.

What I don't get is why they leave that propaganda in public restrooms.
Are people more vulnerable to conversion when pissing, or is that some symbolic comparison of bullsh*t with sh*t?
I think any deity worth a damn is perfectly capable of communicating on its own. Or all these stories about divine powers are (shudder) false!

Every time this one couple comes into myresturant they leave me one and they invite me to their church. I am Muslim and it's a baptist church. I just smile politely, throw the pamphlet out when they leave and go on about my day. It makes those people feel good and it doesn't harm me, so let them waste a tree.

How about the religious pamphlets left on urinals! I'd put them in the urinal and piss on them if someone else didn't have to take them out. I just tear them up and hope the jerk who left them there is watching.

sounds like a good idea to me, if someone is religous and they want to share that in a friendly way, that's fine, its the people who laugh at them who are intolerant.so many intolerant people today, who can't respect others religous beliefs, its sad.

Yeah, it's creepy when someone does that. I don't think a lot of Christians know how creepy they can be, with that robotic zombie look in their eyes when they are talking about their religion.
