I made the ceterpieces for my wedding. I bought vases frosted white vases and silk flowers that coordinated my wedding colors. I also had frosted votives with wedding sayings on the table as well. Don't forget the silk flower petals.

Use floating candles in a nice Crystal round kinda tall Vase.Fill with water about 3/4 from the top.and get some silk rose pedals and put them around the bottom of the vase.and may sure the vase is about 3-5inches wide on the top so that the candles will fit in the vase.good luck

My sister-in-law made flower arrangments in mini watering cans to match her brides maids flowers.
I guess it depends on when you are getting married.
I have seen toule with mini clear xmas lites placed in the center of the table.
We took a picture display/(easles) and placed a poem on the tables with floating candles. This is what the poem said.....
Save the china,
and spare the glass
on the clanging and banging
we shall pass.
If you want proof
of our wedding day bliss,
only a song of "Love"
will produce a kiss.
Music to our ears
and joy to our heart you will bring
when in solo or in concert
you rise and sing.
To complete our request
may we sincerely say
Thank You for coming
and sharing our special day.

I got this idea from a different forum...I saved the link to picture so you can see what I'm talking about..
Ebay has candle votives of different sizes and colors...you can buy packages of 144 for $40.
I'm using about 20 a table of different heights...clear ones and burgandy ones...then I am sprinkling rose petals all over..
its a cheap alternative to flower centerpieces..and candles also make any setting automatically romantic and soft!!
here is what I am doing

My wedding is coming up in Oct. and I'm going a cloth napkin in one color of my wedding laid out in the middle of round white drapped tables. 6 inch rectangle glass vases (wal-mart), with a white rose floating candle. At the bottem of each vase I'm adding in some clear rocks and then brown/glitter silk leaves around each vase. I'm doing one vase and floating candle per table. It may be simple but I'm a big believer that simple is more. Anyhow total cost per table is $6.66.

I made Hershey's Kisses Roses. I included a website that shows you how to make them. Then get some cheap but nice vases or bud vases and put the "roses" in them. Then people (especially kids) will have a blast eating the roses.

Here are a couple of sites you may want to consider:
* Michaels http://www.michaels.com/art/online/search?pageNumber=1&channel=0&search=yes&keywords=wedding+centerpieces&type=0
* DIY Network http://web.diynet.com/diy/web/searchResults?searchString=wedding
Both of these have wonderful wedding crafts at various skill levels. Good luck!

i do have a simple yet elegant idea. use fish bowls, pour in water with some coloring, (etc, little drop of red essence to make the water light pink), then put some floating flowers in and candles. it will look very romantic. depends on your color combination too. anyway congrates.cheers

What we did was we got pretty 1 gallon fish bowls. We put gravel in that matched our wedding colors. And then we put goldfish in the bowls. It cost us about 10.00 per table. It was really pretty.
